"Yes, Forbidden." The Lizziputian leader reiterated with a haughty cough. "We may only elope with other Lizziputians. It is taboo due to your uh, advanced size...?" Hannah's translation trailed off a little. ('Sorry sis! Had to wing it a little!')

"My... size?" Jill frowned. If her size was an issue, that meant these little creatures had met things her size before. But it couldn't have been other humans. The closest were light years away from here. "There are other creatures my size?"

"Alas, yes." The leader nodded. "On this planet, there are two intelligent species. Ourself, the Lizziputians, and the Boobignagians." ('Nice,' Hannah broke character for a moment).

"For the most part, we live in peace, however every 38 taks, a selection of our Lizziputian girls are..." The leader looked away from her, and Jill could take a guess at what was coming next.

"...sacrificed."

"Sacrificed?" Jill started regardless. She knew it was coming, but it was still a shock to the senses. "But... can't you do anything to stop them? It's not fair that you have to sacrifice your people to them!"

"What is fair when they are so much larger than even you?" The Lizziputian Leader sighed.

"Fair is fair!" Jill cried. "It's not right what they're doing! What happens when they run out of sacrifices?"

"That is not a concern of ours," The Leader stated. "We can reproduce as fast as they demand sacrifice."

"...you can?" Jill frowned. "A-anyway, that's not the point. You shouldn't have to be sacrificed, a-and if I've got any say in the matter, you won't have to be! I'm gonna give them a peace of my mind!"

Her speech was mighty, but the effect... wasn't so much. Instead of inspiring and exhilarating the Lizziputians, if anything they looked more nervous now than before.

"I admire your spirit, traveller." The Leader said. "But I believe it unwise to meddle in our politics. It has been this way since before your time, and will continue to be this way. Perhaps it's best... if you just took your machines and left."

"So you're happy with just being sacrificed?" Jill raged. "Just abandoning ten of your cutest lizard girls once a whenever and letting these Boobignagians eat them? Wait, what do they even do to your sacrifices?"

"I don't care to know, Traveller." The Leader huffed. "I only fear it would upset me more."

"You don't even know?" Jill gasped. "And you're the leader here? That's just nasty!"

"I would watch my tongue in polite company if I were you, Traveller." The Leader suddenly gave her a stern look, and even Hannah's screen looked worried. ('Uh, sis? Maybe don't piss everyone off.')

"...you're right, I'm sorry." Jill sighed. "But maybe you need to meet these Boobignagians in the middle, or at least find out what's happening to these girls. L-look, if you let me, I'd happ-"

"What did I just say, Traveller?" The Leader hissed, but her reprimand was quickly drowned out by the clamour of voices around her.

"Wait, maybe that's a good idea!"

"Yeah, it couldn't hurt!"

"C'mon Leader, please!"

"I might find out what happened to big sis!"

The Leader growled something back at her subjects, and elicited silence almost immediately. Whatever she said, Hannah wasn't about to translate it.

"...Traveller." The Leader rubbed her temples. "You have caused us significant grief already. Should the Boobignagians find your technology here, it will only enrage them. Please. For our sake. Just... go!"

"For your sake." Jill felt tears stinging at her eyes. "Let me help. You need someone in your corner, and I can at least try? What's the worst that'll happen?"

"They'll kill us all." The Leader deadpanned.

"...oh." Jill mumbled. "W-well what's slightly less bad? Nothing'll ever get done if you don't talk to each other. You don't have to settle!"

"At the risk of making it worse, Traveller, yes we do." The Leader said.

"But what if it gets better?" Jill cried. "What if you talk to each other, and work something out? You could become friends! Trading partners! Lovers...?"

Her subjects started clamouring again, excitement building up like soap bubbles, and the Leader clenched a fist, throwing it in Jill's direction.

"You know nothing of our troubles, Traveller!" She hissed. "You come here in your fancy metal tube, and yet you threaten to change our ways? Change our culture?!"

"Save our lives...?" Alizza moped.

"Yes! Save our-" The Leader raged, but then her energy evaporated almost immediately. The first fell where it rose, limp against her hip, "...lives."

"I'm sorry, Leader." Alizza sniffled. "B-but I would very much rather not being sacrificed. I-if there's a chance that we talk to the Boobignagians, a-and they don't get mad at us, and we can live together in peace... that'd be nice."

"You selfish little." The Leader growled, and Alizza recoiled in fear, despite being bigger than her. Shuffling away from the Leader's reach and closer to Jill, the silence indeed spoke louder than words.

"...please." Jill sighed. "Let me try. I'm good at bargaining, and the girls clearly don't want to be sacrificed."

"They don't know what the stakes are." The Leader growled, and Jill rose up.

"They are the stakes, Leader. And all they want is a chance to live without fear."

The Leader sighed deeply, both fists drawing blood, before turning away and marching back down Jill's body. "...fine! Do as you will, Traveller! But when it all backfires, you shall be held personally responsible!"

With a yelp as the Leader's foot sunk into her crotch - maybe a little too hard to be accidentally - Jill was approached by the dozens of tiny Lizziputians, suddenly ecstatic about her arrival. Near identical and jumping for joy, her new fan club wasted no time in celebrating her. Reeling after all that just happened, Jill breathed a massive sigh of relief.

"...just what have you signed up for, sis?" Hannah floated past anxiously.

Jill just gave her an awkward smile. "Oh, it'll be fine! I hope...!"
