The acid was inside him now. It filled his mouth, his nose, his ears, a thick, warm slurry of chocolate and acid. He tried to cough, but the convulsion only made him swallow more of the viscous, burning fluid. It slid down his throat, a familiar, ironic echo of the journey he himself had just taken - but this one was a violation, an invasion of his mother’s body into his. The heat was no longer just on his skin; it was in his lungs, his stomach, his veins. A deep fire spread through him, a feeling of melting from the inside out.

The stomach walls pressed in, a constant, rhythmic massage that was eager to break him down. He was kneaded like dough by the strength of her internal organ. His skin felt loose, slippery. He rubbed his arm and a layer of slime and dissolved skin came away on his hand, the flesh beneath it red, raw, and hyper-sensitive. He could feel everything. The prickles had become a steady, searing pain, all over his body, but it was a dull, muffled pain, like a toothache submerged in novocaine. It was buried under the overwhelming sensations of heat, pressure, and wetness.

Another powerful gurgle, a deep glug-glug-GLUG, and the floor of her stomach lifted. He was sloshed against a soft, undulating wall. The pink flesh yielded to his body, conforming to his shape before pushing him back into the central pool. The movement was lazy. He was just another ingredient in the churning stew, no more significant than the dissolving bits of the truffle. Only a small portion of the truffle had not yet become one with the brown, acidic soup. The words "Happy Mother's Day!" were an unreadable smear.

He was becoming part of it his gift to her. And, in turn, he was becoming part of her.

The thought should have been the ultimate horror. Instead, a final, desperate surge of arousal pulsed through him, a last, defiant spark in the dissolving darkness. His body, betraying him to the very end, responded to the all-encompassing embrace. He came, a weak, pathetic spurt lost instantly in the churning fluids, his own contribution to the digestive mixture. The pleasure was a quick, sharp, shameful counterpoint to the pain of his dissolving flesh, a final, humiliated gift for his mommy.

The walls squeezed again, and this time, he felt something give. A sharp, tearing sensation in his shoulder, followed not by a flash of pain, but by a sudden, shocking numbness. The flesh there was simply coming apart, the muscle fibers separating in the hot, acidic bath. He watched, detached, as a piece of his own skin, tinged brown with chocolate, floated away from his body into the murk.

He was coming undone.

The heat was now a profound, internal maelstrom. His thoughts, which had been a frantic scramble of fear and shame, began to slow, to soften at the edges. They became simple, warm impressions. Mommy’s tummy. So warm. Made her happy. Hope the truffle was good.

He tried to take a breath, but his lungs were full. The liquid was thinner now, or he was more permeable. He could feel it circulating through him, replacing his blood with a hot, soupy mixture of Jenna and chocolate and Terry. His bones felt soft, like warm wax. Another peristaltic wave clenched down, and he felt his ribs bend and then snap with a series of wet, muffled crunches. There was no more pain.

His last sight was the pink, glistening ceiling of her stomach, pulsing slowly, glowing with a faint, internal light. It was the most beautiful, terrible thing he had ever seen. It was his entire world. It was Mommy.

I’m… becoming part of Mommy, now. I’m… Becoming beautiful.

His mind dissolved into the heat, the final, coherent thought a warm, satisfied feeling of having fulfilled at least some purpose. He had been a good son. He had given her a delicious present. He had pleased her.

The last solid piece of him, his skull, softened and collapsed in on itself like a rotten fruit. Terry Rose was gone. There was only the churning, warm, nutrient-rich soup, to be easily absorbed into his mother’s intestines.

Jenna sighed dreamily, a long, contented sigh that ruffled the hem of her sweater. She leaned back against the plush cushions of the couch, one hand resting on her slightly warm stomach. Her eyes were fully closed, and she was completely relaxed, slowly slipping quietly into sleep.

“Mmmmm, that was so good,” she murmured to the empty room. “My little man… he always knows just what Mommy likes.”

The chocolate had been exquisite. Rich, dark, with a complex, almost floral flavor she couldn't quite place. It had melted on her tongue in a perfect, velvety wave. And there had been a… a saltiness to it. A savory, satisfying note that had made it truly unforgettable. The best truffle she’d ever eaten. She was so glad she had a perfect son like Terry. She’d taught him right.

She felt so full. So satisfied. A warm, heavy drowsiness settled over her. It was more than just a food coma; it was a deep, maternal bliss. The kind of feeling she got when Terry was a baby, asleep on her chest after a feeding. That perfect, peaceful weight of being needed and providing everything that was needed, and being loved in return.

Her stomach gurgled softly, a happy, digesting sound. She patted it gently.

“Yes, yes, it was very yummy, wasn’t it?” she mumbled down to her own middle.

She closed her eyes, a soft, loving smile on her glossy lips. The scent of chocolate and her own perfume clung to the air. She felt so connected to her Terry in that moment. He was always so close to his mommy.

With that warm, fuzzy, mommy feeling, Jenna drifted off into a deep, peaceful sleep, dreaming of all-encompassing love and the lingering, perfect taste of the best Mother’s Day gift ever.
