"Home?" Lexi tilted her head. You wanted to show Mama where you lived. Mama.. or Lexi made a curious face of disapproval but then seemed to think it over. As if she felt it was a trap but quickly reconsidered.

"Lexi come home!" you insisted, grasping Lexi's hand but quickly retreating it after seeing her startled face "come home? with Arachine?" you pleaded, pointing at yourself with the name she kept referring to you as. You wanted to ask her things, you wanted to learn from her, you wanted to relive those little moments you remembered with Mama.. even if she was now this pink thing, or even if she wasn't Mama.. you heard her say something about being dead.. dead was when you were not moving right?

The look Lexi gave you warmed you up inside in a way that you never felt in years, maybe only when you were with Mama, it was a simple nod and a shy smile, but it seemed so outside of what you knew as the law of the forest, where you either had to eat food or become food. You internally made your decision, whether this was Mama or not you could not eat this pink thing. You would have to search for something else when hunger decided to strike with more intensity. Instead, you leaned down and lifted her in your arms again ready to take her home, but it seemed Lexi didn't like that, you forgot she didn't like that.

"H-hey, please don't do that.. bring me down.. down"

"Lexi hurt?" You set her down gently again and heard her do a curious sound, like she was going to say something but ended just blowing softly.

"Not hurt, it's just.. can walk. thanks" Lexi moved her legs to show her point and you moved your own, mimicking her

"walk home, with weird legs" you said. This time Lexi made another sound that you liked more, it just sounded more.. playful, in a way.

"With weird legs! after you" Lexi pointed forward and you walked slowly, but then felt another spark running through your body as you noticed her gently grasping your hand to keep up. It felt so good! You didn't know why, but it did.

"Home!"

"Ohh" Lexi said, trying to sound interested, but actually she was a bit sad that her suspicions were confirmed. This young monster, a drider if she recalled correctly the technical term, was quite clearly just scraping by with what she had, in a little dirty cave she found and managed to claim as home, in a zone of the forest that looked so devoid of life it didn't suggest she would thrive at all there. It just ran against what Lexi knew and was taught about these creatures, weren't driders supposed to be fearsome predators? Sure, Arachine almost eats her, but seeing the state of her so called home.. she just expected something else more reflecting of her supposed place at the top of the hierarchy.

"Lexi home! Lexi with Arachine.. Lexi.. unghh" Lexi looked what Arachine tried to do and just felt another wave of pity for the young creature, despite the earlier incident. It was painfully obvious she was alone all this time, and desperate for the company of someone to the point she thought you were her mother just because of a lucky shout.

You saw her failing to find space for you both in that little cave and figured out maybe you could help her in some way, just a bit, before fleeing from this place. Even if you were still a little scared of her deciding to kill you, and as much as you considered it to be a bad idea based on what you knew about these driders. You just felt she needed you, or anyone, to be the sort of mentor her mother wasn't able to be, and she had absolutely nobody around to do so. You saw it in her childlike gestures, on the way she reacted to your expressions, on the way she reacted when you decided to grab her hand, something that intrigued you a lot too. It felt like a normal, human hand, just as her upper body looked like that of a 18-20 year old woman. Were all driders like that?

"Small home" Arachine grumbled, giving you a sad look and then looking around in the empty patch of forest for a solution, sitting in a couple places and standing up again, was she.. giving up her cave to you? just like that? You went to her and grab her hand again, deciding to get to know Arachine a bit better and maybe find out how to help her. Time to pay back for the favor of.. not killing you.
