Up in the trees you sat on your web and waited as you always did. The sensitive hairs on your body picked up only the wind, the big shiny orb was high in the sky and it was warm. It was good, when it was cold all the time you had to sleep a lot or you got hungry and you didn’t like that. There wasn’t any of that cold stuff on the ground anymore, there should be food soon. You had already laid down threads in the hope that something would come by.

You were bored enough you were starting to doze off when you felt a slight twitch, you instantly knew it was coming from beneath you. ‘A little furry thing?’ You usually ate tiny furry things, mama called them squiels you think, or maybe a furry thing that bounced a lot, you can’t remember what mama called them. You carefully moved a branch out of the way and looked down.

Something was walking along the ground holding… you think it was a bow and arrow mama called it. As you watched it you were reminded you of this pink thing you ate once, it would squeal a lot before you ate it and it was really good. This thing was pink at spots too, but it was a lot bigger, walking on two feet, and had golden fur on the top and fur around most of it that was… green you think mama said.

Quickly, you formed a small web net and dropped down on it. “WHA!?” It made a weird noise as you dropped the net on it, you grabbed it in the net and pulled it back up onto the trees, all of it in only a few seconds. It was shrieking the whole way as you returned to your web, food always did but it would be quiet soon.

You grabbed more webbing out of your back and started to wrap up the food. It would grow tired after struggling for a while and then you’d eat it. “No! Please don’t! Let me go!” It made more weird noises as you spun it around. It looked so tasty you couldn’t help but lick your lips as you almost finished. The thing looked at you with wide eyes. “Please! PLEASE DON’T EAT ME!” More weird noises. They almost sounded… familiar somehow.
