With a yelp of pain Hinata fell on the floor, losing another spar against the self appointed leader of her team Kiba

"Come on Hinata, I know you can do better than that" her teammate encouraged her, already an expert on noticing those moments where self doubt started paralyzing the Hyuga heiress. Kiba's partner Akamaru barked in support.

"You know how Kiba attacks Hinata, but he also knows how you attack. Consider it in your strategy" Kurenai advised while Shino remained silent as usual.

"Need a break?" Kiba offered extending his hand to her with a smile and a slightly smug expression on his face. He cared about Hinata deeply, but it always made him a bit too happy to prove he was the superior fighter.

"N-no, let's do it again" Hinata answered and Kiba nodded, saving the words for later seeing that his teammate was motivated enough.

Kiba started as usual when sparring against Hinata, not with all guns blazing but slow with Taijutsu both to encourage her and to test himself against her dangerous gentle fist technique, a technique capable of rendering an opponent helpless by cutting their chakra flows and striking their internal organs. He knew that Hinata never went full strength either, and it frustrated him a bit, but he also knew taunting the shy girl was never going to work. As Kurenai told him, he would just have to wait until Hinata trusted herself enough.

Hinata seemed to be pacing herself more than usual on this round, but in her mind she was mulling over her sensei's words. Trying something different? It was something that came hard to her, not due to her nature but due to the gentle fist nature and the Hyuga style of training itself, the gentle fist and its related jutsus considered the ultimate technique when developed properly. But she could try.

"Hmm" Shino seemed to nod with approval.

"You see it too, the focus" Kurenai smiled noting what Hinata was trying. Kiba however was just starting to get frustrated.

"Come on, stop just blocking and show me your- oof" Kiba got caught by surprise by a gentle fist attack that sent him sprawling to the floor, getting back up with a smirk finally realizing. Even if it wasn't on a pressure point or to cut his chakra down, it was enough to interrupt his attack.

"New moves huh? I can do that too" Kiba said throwing a kunai and charging back at Hinata, who kept her guard up and continued trying to find a way to make her gentle fist work until.. she saw something. Kiba's moves were aggressive but erratic, more focusing or tearing her guard down than on an actual plan behind it which gave her an opening to use that jutsu on him but.. not in the exact way she was taught to. She could still see with her byakugan a way to strike most of the points but..

"Don't get distracted" Kiba launched a series of kicks that made her react almost on instinct. Hinata recovered and made her decision, this was a fight, and another attack like that would mean another defeat. She would have to risk it, because the opening she saw to strike was also dwindling away the more confident Kiba got. Dodging a surprise uppercut from Kiba just in time she saw her chance.

"Gentle Fist Art: Sixty Four Palms" Hinata trembled slightly but carried on, finally landing her jutsu on the unconventional arrangement she saw possible.

"What? But..gah!" Kiba thought he was still blocking that technique from happening until the strikes started to land, some of them on his pressure points, and some not but hurting nonetheless. Kurenai raised an eyebrow on interest noticing the unorthodox approach and wondering if it would be effective enough, after all it was the gentle fist. Hinata's father probably wouldn't approve though.

"Argh.. how did she caught me?" Kiba asked his dog partner who just yipped in response as he got up and felt a bit off, aware that it wasn't the eight trigrams style but that it still messed up with some pressure points.

"Well done Hinata" Kurenai cheered and Shino nodded while the shy kunoichi remained rooted on the spot in disbelief, did it actually work? She could see it with her Byakugan that the effect wasn't fully what she intended, but she had managed to affect Kiba somewhat. Whatever she managed to do, she could tell Kiba was no longer at full health.

"Yeah, I didn't expect that at all" Kiba smirked "new technique?" he asked while stretching and got surprised when Hinata shook her head, was it a lucky break then? "Well, it could be!" Kiba shrugged.. "Ready for round 3?"
