"If she's going to stay here then she has to volunteer to help fix whatever she destroys." Was the demand of the mob. If the giantess was going to live in their city, then she was going to have to either be extra careful or repair whatever she broke.
"Alright." Daniel nodded. That was a fair demand and honestly not as harsh as he expected from an angry mob. Hopefully he'd be able to make amends with his baby girl and get her to agree, otherwise things were going to get really ugly in this city. "That's fair."
The leader of the mob grumbled and there were a lot of other murmurs mixed in. They threw one last glare at Diana and Daniel before finally dispersing. Once they were gone, he released a breath he didn't know he was holding and hunched over with his hands on his knees.
The mob was finally gone, and he could breathe easy. He might've looked and sounded tough on the outside but on the inside, he was sweating bullets. If it came down to a fight, he could probably take down one or two people but not an entire mob that would jump him from all sides.
Daniel took a few more seconds to collect himself before turning his attention back to Diana. He needed to talk to her and get her to understand, for her sake as well as his own. He wouldn't be able to help her if the military got involved.
He sighed heavily and forced himself to march back over to where the giantess was trying to sleep. He clenched his fists, bit back his fears as best he could and called her name. "Diana! Honey! We need to talk!"
Without the helmet muffling his voice, Diana caught him loud and clear. It irked her know her renounced father was there next to her, and she turned to face him with a hard scowl. "What do you want, Daneil?"
Hearing her use his first name stung, and seeing the look on her face almost made his resolve waiver. He couldn't afford to now, not with her life potentially on the line. Daniel stood firm and met her gaze. "We need to talk, now!"
Diana noted that Daniel was using his authoritative voice, the one he rarely ever had to use on her. If he was using now despite everything that just happened and how royally pissed off she was, then whatever he wanted to talk about had to be important.
"Fine." She nearly growled as she sat up and tossed her blanket aside. She finally moved her legs out of the road to sit crisscrossed as she waited to hear whatever the man in front of her had to say. "What do you want to talk about?"
