A broken bond ATypical Life as a Kaiju Giantess chapter 14 by copier · original author: penslayer5

Standing idle wasn't an option. Daniel knew there was no turning back now. If he did he then this would be another moment he'd regret for the rest of his life. So with a shaky hand, he slowly lifted his visor.

He gulped nervously when he saw Diana's eyes widen for a split second before narrowing dangerously. She was really not happy to see him. Maybe he should've waited a little longer before setting out to find her?

"What the hell do you want, Daniel?" she seethed. Hearing her use his first name like this felt like a slap across the face. She really had renounced him, hadn't she? He already knew she did, but hearing her not refer to him as her father made it feel all the more real.

"I-I..." damn it. He needed to stop stuttering and find his voice, "I-I... came out here to look for you. Your mother and I are worried about you."

That must've been the wrong thing to say because because he could almost swear he heard a growl leave Diana's lips.

"Leave. Me. Alone."

Daniel was almost inclined to do just that, but fought hard to stand his ground. The crowd around them was now looking on with more curious glances than angry ones, though they were still angry. They were probably wondering why his own daughter was angry at him when for the longest time they were a close knit family.

"I-I mean it. Demi and are worried sick about you! Please come home!" Daniel tried again.

Diana fists were trembling beneath her blanket. Daniel noticed this too and could feel himself beginning to sweat beneath his helmet.

"No. Now leave me alone." Diana reiterated.

The crowd was starting to grow nervous now. Before tonight they'd never seen the giant angry before. She was a shy girl who was always doling out apologies because she made their lives hell with her sheer presence. To see her enraged at the sight of her own father was new and admittedly a little terrifying.

"Diana, I'm sorry. I never meant to hurt you. Please try to understand-"

"Understand!" Diana shouted, cutting the smaller man off. Daniel took an involuntary step back. The crowd did the same when they saw the giant throw off her sheet and begin to sit up. She was fuming and the glare she sent her father was enough to make some of them flee.

A part of Daniel wanted to flee with them.

"Understand what!? That you lied to me! That Demi lied to me! That you knew why I'm a freak and said nothing! You lied to me for 18 years and did it with a damn smile on your face!" Diana roared. Daniel could see the tears forming and the deranged look in her eyes. "This is all your fault! Everything's your fault! My life's hell and it's all because of you! I hate you!"

In that moment Daniel felt as if he'd just taken a knife through the heart. She hated him. He suddenly found himself in a memory of when she was just 5 years old and already as tall as her mother. He had taken her fishing out on the lake, It had been just the two of them. They'd caught plenty of fish that day and she hugged him with all her strength and said, "I love you."

It was funny how long ago that was. It actually made him cry. "You don't mean that."

"Yes I do! Now leave me alone! Just go home." she whispered.

Everything had gone silent, only the sound of the night wind could fill the void. What remained of the crowd watched with bated breath to see what would happen next.

Diana held her glare and all Daniel wanted was to disappear. "Please, Diana."

"Last warning."
