"Say, I wanted to ask you this, but why do you have a grudge against her?" Rei asked.
Sakurai hummed as he watched the footage of Haruka prancing around the city streets without a care in the world. "Why indeed?"
The images of the giantess living her carefree life both disappointed and infuriated the man. All the potential in the world, wasted on a child who could be so much more.
"To answer your question, I hate seeing anything go to waste. That girl has all the powers of a god in the palm of her hand and yet she doesn't even try to reach her full potential."
Rei could understand that. She felt the exact same way after all. Haruka could do so much more than what she has been and instead wastes her time posing for the cameras and doing odd jobs around town.
"That makes sense. She's wasting her powers and using them for childish things when she should be out on the streets trying to ensure that their safe from crooks and natural disasters."
Sakurai nodded his head in agreement. "Exactly! Granted, she has aided the city in the past, but she could be doing so much more for her country as a whole. I'd say she's more of a danger than even she realizes."
"How so?" Rei asked curiously.
Sakurai sighed. "As I said before, nothing can stop her. Tanaka ran hundreds of tests with her and in the end the result was always the same. It didn't matter if it was man, mutant, machine, bullets, bombs, or even lasers. That girl is virtually indestructible."
Rei tapped her chin in thought. "So, what you're saying is that there's no counter measure for her and because she's not a part of the military or government she can't be controlled."
"Smart girl." Sakurai smiled. "If it were up to me, she'd be out there right now serving both the city and the rest of Japan but that's not the case. She's filming for a tv show that doesn't even crack a million views."
"Such a waste." Rei grumbled. "I'd make a better Kaiju than her. At least I'd save people from the creatures that slither in the dark. She doesn't deserve those powers."
"I know." Sakurai spoke soothingly as the video ended. "With great power there must also come great responsibility and even greater opportunity. Reil... you will be a hero unlike any other. You are the centerpiece of the beautiful future I want to create."
"Really?" she asked hopefully.
"Of course." he smiled warmly. "You and I are going to change the world and make it a true-blue utopia. No more pain, no more crime, no more waste."
That sounded like a dream come true.
"I'd like to live in a world like that." Rei whispered.
"I l know." Sakura said before stretching his back. "So, lets make that world a reality."
"Yes sir." Rei saluted.
That made the older man giggle. "Good. Now let's go get some breakfast. I hope you like Yakizakana."
