Once the movie finally wrapped up, Ken and Mako were left horrified. What they'd spent the last hour watching was an in depth video of the cyberization of Yoshiko. The way that poor girl kicked and screamed from all the scalpels a needles made them both feel sick.
"Now that that's out of the way, we can finally discuss business." Sakurai began, not at all bothered by the gore that was once on screen. "We want your daughter to join our latest creation to aid us in protecting Japan. With the two of them together we can ensure the balance of power will be forever tipped in our favor."
"That's correct." Junko added. "If you willingly sign your daughter over to us, not only will you be doing your country a great service, but we'll ensure that the two of you and any other offspring you may have will be set for life. A nice house by the water, a white picket fence, maybe a pet or two."
Tanaka didn't say anything, both Sakurai and Junko made him sick to his stomach.
"So what do you say? Do we have a deal?" Sakura asked.
Ken was floored. Just when he thought these bastards couldn't stoop any lower. They actually thought they could put a price tag on his daughter's life like a cheap toy. How fitting considering that's what they were treating her like. "Never." he whispered.
"Pardon?" Junko inquired.
"I said never!" Ken growled. "We'll never willingly sign her over to you!"
Mako then made her own voice heard. "That's right. You can't put a price tag on people's lives. Haruka is a person, not a weapon! She has a heart, she cares about the people around her, she just wants to make people smile. You all though, you all are just... evil!"
Tanaka did his best hide his wince while Junko stared blankly at the couple. Sakurai on the other hand looked slightly annoyed.
"Come now. This is bigger than any one girl. This is about the future of Japan. We could build an entire empire that stretches from here to the end of the world. Our kaiju will revolutionize warfare. Haruka could become the greatest innovation since the sub-machine gun."
Ken was out of his seat before Sakurai could even blink. He went to throttle the man only to be slammed down to the floor by a guard.
"Ken!" Mako cried.
The guard aimed his rifle at the downed man. "Try that again and it'll be the last mistake you ever make."
"Bastard!" Ken seethed.
Sakurai sighed. "Why can't things ever be simple. We're trying to extend an olive branch here. No matter what you say we're going to cyberize your daughter and put her on the front lines. We were only being courteous by offering you compensation. But if you want to act like children then you'll have nothing."
Sakurai nodded to Junk who nodded back. "Guards, take aim. We're removing these two before they can become a problem later."
The pair's eyes widened and even Tanaka looked stunned.
The guards all raised their guns.
"Ready..."
Mako jumped to her husband's side.
"Aim..."
"I love you ken." she whispered.
"I love you too." he whispered back.
Tanaka was panicking inside. He needed to do something.
"Fire!"
