Ethan stood, feeling a strange mix of guilt and power. He'd created this new version of Mr. Walcott, a bombshell with the personality of a grumpy old man. It was hilarious, but also wrong. He had to fix it.
"I actually have to go," Ethan said, backing towards the door. "I've got... stuff. To do."
Walcott nodded, his new breasts jiggling slightly with the motion. "Alright, kid. Don't break any more of my windows."
Ethan gave a weak smile and headed out the door, the sound of the screen door slapping shut behind him. He walked briskly back to his house, the Morphisizer feeling heavy in his hand. He had to reverse the change. He had to turn Mr. Walcott back to his original, pot-bellied, cranky self.
He got to the edge of his lawn and crouched behind a large rose bush, peering through the leaves. Walcott was still standing in his doorway, squinting at something on the horizon. Ethan raised the Morphisizer, aiming it with a slightly shaky hand. The green light blinked, ready.
He just had to press the button. One push, and the universe would be right again. Walcott would be Walcott, and the world would make sense. But a question hung in the air: what if he couldn't change him back? What if the Morphisizer was a one-way street?
He took a deep breath, and with a mix of dread and resolve, pressed the power button.
