The slime wanders aimlessly, moving in circles and still disoriented, not understanding anything other than the fact it is in an unfamiliar environment. It picks up a variety of strange smells from the atmosphere, but none of them entice or warn it in anyway so to speak. So it remains there, any natural curiosity to explore weighed down by a desire to understand something about this point it happened to spawn into. And it remained there, doing the same until finally it picked something that sparked interest.
"Hmm, I swear it was around here that I saw that strange light during the storm" A woman approached slowly, assessing the damage it caused, as always in awe at the power of nature and relieved that, thank God, it wasn't strong enough to do something like ripping the roof of her house apart. She was on her routine morning run, a bit earlier than usual since it wasn't dawn yet, but due to the storm, and the strange, atypical light that she catched while watching from her window she just couldn't wait further and had to go check.
"Whoa, something definitely happened here!" The woman said watching the charred trees and bushes. She could recognize where lightning hit a tree but this was a bit different, it was as if the poor trees in the area happened to attract a barrage of lightning strikes, based on the damage caused. Was that a natural phenomenon? She wasn't sure, she would have to check on the internet. But it explained the intense light she saw earlier. Curious to see what else she could find, she got even nearer.
The slime twitched, still undecided but now for a different reason. Whatever was approaching, it had a delicious smell, and it took no time for the smell to spark the hunger in it. But was it edible? was it dangerous? from what it could sense, it was far bigger than its normal diet, in fact, bigger than other species it used to interact with before arriving to this unknown place. For the first time the apex predator felt not threatened, but insecure about what course of action to take. It could just try, its instincts were certainly calling for it, or it could hide and use its defense mechanism just in case. Or maybe it should hide and follow from a safe distance? That would give it a direction at least.
"Poor trees.. hm? what's that?" The slime instinctively sensed it was recognized, although the woman just spotted something green from the corner of her eye. The slime needed to act.
What happens next?
