A Weekend (not spent) Alone

You smile upon seeing that it's Saturday, which means you've got two whole days to have fun and forget about school, although school itself wasn't as bad as most people your age make it out to be. After all, you've got your friends to spend those days with. Plus, even other people at school do make your day better like Dolores in lunch or Lulu's art classes, although you could do with a tad less flirty teasing.
On the other hand, you did have to deal with some negative stuff like Celeste's annoying shenanigans or Valentina but so far it's been nothing you couldn't handle: life was good for the most part and that's what mattered at the end of the day.
Just as any other weekend, you got up, took a shower and made yourself some breakfast to enjoy while watching something on the Internet on the TV. Once that was done, the day was yours to decide how to spend it. The first idea that popped in your head was to try and hang out with Jen, preferably without Lillian but it wasn't like you disliked her, you just wanted some time without her being there making things awkward, for some reason you felt like you couldn't make any advances when she was there. You'd even gotten some support and advice from friends like Zuemy and Sadie but you hadn't been able to put it all into practice yet.
But maybe that wasn't what you needed, maybe you just needed to give your nonexistent love life a rest before getting back to it and in that case chilling and having fun might be the better bet. Cindy always had good anime or games to share and enjoy. However, just as you were wondering what to do next your phone began to ring and you picked up to answer, seeing that it was Mom calling.
"Good morning baby!" She greeted you warmly. To be still called 'baby' at 18 years old made you blush in spite of being alone. Not in a necessarily bad way but it couldn't be helped. In any case, your dad had told you that no matter how old you were, you'd always be your mom's baby but just in an affectionate way.
Thinking about it, you were probably lucky because while Miriam was very protective, she knew to trust you and trust herself, since she raised you. The fact that you could be left alone and that you were free to go around and do stuff with practically no questions asked was proof. Of course, as long as you always came back home at a reasonable time or called to let her know what was going on if you'd arrive later than usual.
"Good morning, mom" You replied, unable to shake off the mild embarrassment from your voice, eliciting a few giggles from her "How are you?"
"Good as always, starting the day a bit earlier than I thought" Your mom replied with her characteristic lively spark "Had to come with Patricia and oversee a bunch of construction projects and we'll have some meetings with different people later" She then sighed "This is kind of why I'm calling, hon. Since I had to leave earlier I didn't have enough time to give your sister her washed clothes and this week's spending money. Think you can get that for me?"
"Sure, no problem mom. I didn't have anything to do in particular anyway" You said, the latter part being actually honest.
You remembered overhearing how many people in your school deemed that sort of phrase to be "forbidden" since it always led to getting chores but thankfully, that was never your case. You got chores as they were legitimately needed at home, not just doled out as a punishment for the heinous crime of being idle. On top of that, you did these things on your own volition most of the time just to help your parents since they worked hard for most of the day (and Ariadne wasn't around as often anymore due to college, unless it's vacation) although your friends and some other people have joked that with those housekeeping skills, you might very well end up becoming what they called a "malewife"
"Well, after you're done with that I see no reason for you not to go and hang out with your friends" Your mom said, not fully sure on your mood but pre-emptively wanting to cheer you up, out of that potential apathy at the very least "You could even have Lillian tag along~" She added in a more playful sing-song tone.
"Not a bad idea but I dunno if I wanna linger for too long at that school. You know, being all girls and stuff means that I technically shouldn't be there in the first place" You then replied, being once again fully honest but also being rather casual about it, trying your best to hide the fact that you had been caught up in various shenanigans every time you visited Ariadne, specially if she wasn't around.
"Ariadne's told me it's fine, you're perfectly welcome. If anything she tells me you might be a bit popular in there, huh?" She giggled as she teased you once more, that giggling so clear that you could perfectly picture her grin.
"I'm sure she loves to joke around but I don't really think a bunch of grown up girls care all that much for what is essentially a brat to them" You shrugged.
"Ooh, you'd be surprised my dear son, you'd be very surprised..." Your mom laughed "Many women, from those in college to ladies like Patricia do have a thing for fine, young men. Specially if they're handsome~"
"What do you mean I'm old, Miri?!" You heard Patricia's voice, it sounded like it came from some distance but evidently, within the call's earshot "I'm not even a decade older than you" She laughed.
"Well, it was just an example" Your mom laughed as well "I didn't want to say someone like my mom! Besides, the real older ladies preferred their men closer to their age or older"
"Fair 'nuff" Patricia said and you could hear her footsteps as she walked away.
"Ariadne just exaggerates, I promise. But don't worry, I'll go and give her her stuff" You then said after a short pause.
"Just in case, be careful. If you want to pick up some girl bring her home first so I can meet her" Your mom said, barely holding her laughter in.
"Mom!"
"Just kidding... or who knows? Love you, bye!"
With that, the call ended and you had one thing to get done for the day before getting back to deciding how to spend the rest of it, the question being whether you should go alone or invite either of your friends. Lillian's big sister Jordana was in that school as well, naturally as Ariadne's bestie though this is also one of the main problems with you visiting, it left you practically no way to stay out of her path and you could really use not getting wrestled down to oblivion every time.
On the other hand, Jen's cousin Brenda also attended that school and was a friend of both Ariadne's and Jordana's, though having still some of that rivalry they had all throughout their life, mostly when it came to strength and exercise. The problem here being that Brenda loved teasing you way too much and had gotten you in problematic situations many more times than you'd be willing to admit to anyone. Jen could be a slight help and she'd normally try to protect you but it might also backfire and motivate Brenda into messing with you even more.
Regardless if you went alone or not, there were more things to consider. Dolores' daughters also attended that school and encountering them was a damn circus in its own right. Then again you'd have to be massively unlucky to run into them without your big sis around. On top of all that, Grace worked at the college as a teacher, much to your surprise and chagrin though you hadn't encountered in there anywhere near as often as you did on your temporary jobs.
'Maybe mom's jokes have a smidge of truth to them' You thought, wondering why you seemed to be such a magnet for various kinds of trouble. Looking again at your phone, you had to make a decision...
Amazing story! When you write a story, how do you imagine your story and characters in your mind? Can you tell me?
