Monique took a deep breath... only to then cough, as her previous gassy emissions lingered around her. She washed her hands and dried off her face and chest before she left. She didn't really want to go back to Emily with her current company, but she knew that she may suspect something if she did, so her best bet was to tune out and take no part in her twisted schemes...
Seeing that she was willing to steep so low so as to work together with the school's worst bully, she lost a great deal of the respect she had for her friend, but she couldn't really act on it, plus, she still hoped that Emily weren't rotten to the core, though with the things she kept seeing, that hope seemed to grow more and more unlikely to be true.
"Welcome back Moni. Feeling better now?" Emily greeted her with a smile that she wouldn't have judged before, but now that she looked at it, she felt like it was hollow and fake.
"A little..." Monique replied with a weak nod, knowing that her stomach would remain upset for several more hours, if not the rest of the day. After that, Emily resumed her enthusiastic conversation with the other two, drawing plans to capture you to exact their revenge.
"Ugh, does this have to be so convoluted? I mean they're right over there! I could just walk up to them, snatch him from their hands and come back in two minutes at worst" Toxic Lily huffed.
"Lily, you've already tried that and it didn't end well for you... last time you did Jen kicked your ass by herself" Emily said with a slightly annoyed glare.
"I was sick that day!" Lily angrily retorted, her pride wounded by Emily's reminding of her latest defeat.
"What about the time before that? Lillian was the one who beat you and she sat on your face for like half an hour until you got knocked out cold" Emily added with a smug smile.
"Emily, I swear..." Lily said, but then, something clicked in her head "Come to think of it, you were there both times! Why didn't you help me?!"
"Sheesh, do you really think I can fight either of those two? There's no way I can beat Lillian, and if Jen lands a single punch on me I'd probably be toast. Not everyone can take that kind of beatings" Emily said, to which Valentina nodded in agreement.
"I've observed them for a long time, Jen can really be aggressive, and Lillian... she's almost invincible in a one-on-one fight. I think the only ones who might be a match for her are the football girls" She said "Or the Yakuza Princess..."
"Do NOT mention that bitch in my presence!" Lily growled at her. Both Emily and Valentina raised an eyebrow, surprised at this, since neither had knowledge of any interaction between the two. However, before they could further inquire about it, Veronica arrived, greeting her friends but then abruptly stopping upon seeing two people she'd never expect to see sitting at her friends' table.
"Wha-Did I miss something?" She said in disbelief, while Emily's eyes widened for a split second. She had almost forgotten about her! Since Veronica had a tendency to disappear, mostly to let loose in private, Emily hadn't considered what would happen when she arrived and saw Lily and Valentina.
"What are you doing here?" Veronica looked Lily in the eye, narrowing her own. Not many dared to defy the fearsome bully, but Veronica had been growing bolder about it since she was aware of her feud with you and your friends.
"That's a real good question" Lily replied with a taunting smile, munching some of her food to show she was not afraid of the redhead at all.
"Hello, my name's Valentina. Pleased to meet you" The girl next to her politely greeted her and offered her hand to shake, which Veronica did albeit somewhat reluctantly.
"We hadn't met until now, but I think we'll both benefit from working together" She added, making Veronica's expression even more puzzled.
'Oh shit' Emily thought, realizing that her lies were catching up to her in the worst way possible.
"What's that supposed to mean?" Veronica raised an eyebrow, as she could tell that this girl wasn't a senior like herself, so it wasn't too likely they'd work together in class, plus, the way she said it didn't sound like she was just talking about homework. Emily wanted to signal Valentina to abort whatever she was trying to do, but she had to keep a straight face.
"You know... Getting revenge on the insensitive jerk that turned us down..." Valentina confidently said, and to Veronica it was as if someone grabbed a dozen porcelain dishes and smashed them on the floor all at the same time. She looked at her in confused disbelief, and then at Emily, who looked guiltier by the second in spite of her attempts at hiding it.
"What is she...?" Veronica said to Emily while Monique subtly smiled but still ate quietly.
"Is there anyone else that fits that bill?" Valentina asked "You know who we're talking about"
It didn't take Veronica long to put two and two together and realize what was going on in here, and when she did, she frowned, and her beautiful green eyes harshly glared at her friend's.
"Em, what did you tell this girl?" She asked, and for the first time in a long while Emily herself found herself rather nervous, since she hadn't accounted for this scenario to unfold, thus she hadn't thought of a way to weasel out of it without compromising her image.
"Just the truth" Lily chimed in, much to Emily's annoyance "That the mite-sized twerp made a fool out of ya, isn't that right?"
Veronica couldn't help but clench her fists, Toxic Lily was one of the last people she would've wanted to know about her personal love life, and it was pretty clear that Emily had blabbed about it since she seriously doubted Monique would conspire to hurt you.
"Emily!" She shouted, startling all of the girls sans Monique.
"This is just all a big misunderstanding" Emily shrugged, but she practically see the fire in Veronica's eyes, she wasn't buying it.
"I mean, Valentina here went through the same thing, and she just wanted to help..."
"By planning to hurt the boy I love?" Veronica fiercely replied, this time, even Monique was surprised, since she had been too embarrassed to acknowledge her feelings, and she'd only done so to her two friends in private so far. Meanwhile, Valentina scowled, as that wasn't the attitude she expected.
"How can you love that piece of trash after what he did to you?!" She angrily asked, feeling as if she had been personally insulted.
"You better shut up right now if you know what's good for you!" Veronica threatened. Despite it being directed to one of her friends/associates, Lily nodded approvingly.
"I may not agree with your opinion, but at least you've got the guts to uphold it" She gave her a thumbs up.
The tension increased tenfold by the second, with Veronica, Emily and Valentina in a silent standoff. Lily enjoyed the show, as she always loved to see people fight and Monique was both impressed by Veronica's newfound courage and glad that she'd seen through Emily.
"You know... I could expect this kind of crap from her, she's a bully, it's what she does..." Veronica said, nonchalantly pointing at Lily.
"But you're my friend! Why on Earth would you think I'd want to hurt the guy I want to ask out!"
"I mean, some micros can be quite stubborn... they could use a bit of a beating to soften up, huh..." Emily replied, her attempt at lightening the mood falling flat on its face.
"I never liked the way you treat them, but I didn't think you could be genuinely evil" Veronica huffed.
"Hey! Hey! Who said anything about being evil?" Emily's eyes widened once more, she knew she had to backpedal and hard before this whole clusterfuck she got herself into before it spiraled out of control. Veronica sighed in response and shook her head.
"Let's go Moni, there's an empty table over there" She said, and Monique was more than happy to join her, despite the glare Emily gave her.
Once the two girls were out of earshot, Emily groaned loudly and covered her face with her hands. She knew she was already walking on thin ice with Veronica, her crush on you and the few interactions you two had made her aware of the plight of micros, and she came to see the way Emily treated them less like "simply messing around" and more like downright evil and hateful.
"Welp, that certainly didn't go to plan" Lily nonchalantly remarked.
"Shut up..." Emily huffed, while Valentina also looked pretty angry but she chose to remain quiet.
Now that Monique and Veronica were sitting at a table by themselves, what happens next?

4) The same as choice 3, but when Monique pulls you out and hands you over to Veronica, the two girls are caught by a very angry Arianna, who snatches you and gives both girls detention.
5) Free choice as usual, with the added possibility of ignoring this entire chapter and take the story in a new direction.
