"We might need to call the other Sun gods" Quetzalcóatl said.
"Hello no! You have any idea how much of a laughing stock we'd become if we can't handle someone from our own pantheon?!" Huitzilopochtli replied "Besides, if she's already this strong I'm not too confident Helios or Ra will be of any help, who even worships those two anymore?"
"My, my, you two sure are chatty today" Itzpapálotl spoke, giving you a surge of cold chills. The two goddesses were speaking in your mind and yet she heard them?!
"Of course, reading minds is a child's play for a high ranking goddess" She smiled darkly, revealing that her teeth were razor sharp and much more similar to those of a crocodile or dinosaur than a human's, the kind of teeth designed to rip and tear meat to shreds and suffice to say, very unnatural looking on a humanoid visage. Not that much of a surprise but the depictions of the gods in those ancient codices was actually on point.
Your hands trembled, you could sense that you were in the most danger you'd ever been in your life. You tightly clutched your grandpa's machete as if it were the one thing keeping you anchored to life. Your muscles ached too much, they refused to obey your commands to get up so you had to try and force them. Your breathing and heartbeat quickened as you heard the terrifying goddess' footsteps approaching you.
Using all of your mental might you forced yourself to sit up but the goddess was already standing before you and you hadn't even gotten up. You clenched your teeth and breathed heavily. Was this the end? Did you fight for nothing?
"I was expecting Clemente. I wouldn't have thought he'd give away the family heirloom while he was still alive" Itzpapálotl spoke in a more solemn tone, befitting of an ancient ruler "But the grandson will do" She smiled again, once more showing off those horrifying teeth that were more like fangs.
You took some deep breaths and very slowly stood up, never letting go of the machete as it quite literally now your life depended on it, feeling like it was your lifeline and the last beacon you had left, giving you the strength to face what would've driven many off the deep end and into full-on despair.
"To think you killed two of my precious Tzitzimimeh" She huffed, annoyance more than evident in her voice "But you killing one of my Tlil-Tzitzimimeh [Lit. "Black Tzitzimimeh"] is what deems you too dangerous to let alive"
"I only killed them because they came to kill me or my grandpa" You said while struggling to catch your break. There was no way you could outrun this goddess, you could sense that she was so confident right now precisely because you were in no position to defend yourself... and yet you didn't want to go down laying down.
"Well, you probably have heard this elsewhere but 'Sins of the father' yadda yadda, or 'Sins of the grandfather' in this case" She said as she reached to her waist and grabbed an obsidian knife. Somehow you didn't notice them before but her skirt had essentially a full belt of them. Were they there before? No way to tell.
"It's been a while since I've had a decent meal" She said, licking her lips as she brought the obsidian knife dangerously close to your throat.
All of sudden, there was a massive gust of wind that came out of nowhere and it sent you flying several meters back just as lightning struck where Itzpapálotl was, though she narrowly dodged it. Her eyes widened for a split second but then she looked up at the sky and burst out laughing.
"Nice try, jackasses! How about you give it your A-game next time?" She said, Quetzalcóatl's and Huitilopochtli's growling quietly echoing in your mind.
"Oh, this is gonna be delicious" She chuckled and looked at you as you made an attempt to get into a fighting stance with your machete ready to strike back, though there was almost no strength behind your arms to speak of.
"Please, you and I both know you've got no steam left" Itzpapálotl said, walking towards you while nonchalantly spinning her obsidian knife.
"I prefer when my prey dies in absolute agony and in utter despair. Normally I'd go around and kill every last member of your family before executing you but regrettably I don't have enough time for that right now" She sadistically taunted you "But if you give me some more of your blood I can go and slaughter your mother, how about that? I can fillet her like the cow she i-"
Itzpapálotl was unexpectedly interrupted as your body moved on its own. Consumed by an unyielding rage, you conjured strength you didn't even know still resided within your body and used it to leap towards her and punch her in the face with all your might, putting all the weight of your body into that one blow and then quickly grabbing the machete with both hands, doing a diagonal slash in an attempt to slice her in half, which failed but you managed to make a deep cut into her still, causing black blood to flow out of the wound.
Having finally exhausted every last ounce of strength you had left, you collapsed right there and then, still conscious and still clutching the machete but otherwise unable to move, your body didn't even have enough energy to generate the electric impulses to send any commands to your muscles.
Itzpapálotl touched her abdomen and her chest and then looked at her hand, seeing the blood that was escaping her body. Her crimson eyes glowed intensely and she growled in absolute fury, lifting you up with one arm and punching you with tremendous power, causing a relatively minor shockwave as you got sent flying all the way into your grandparents' house, crashing through the window and tumbling into the couch.
In less than the blink of an eye she was already standing before you, picking you up by the throat and raising you higher into the air, essentially hanging you but with her hand, which was gradually squeezing your throat.
"Now you did it... So, a momma's boy, huh? Neither your blood mother nor the idiotic blonde are worthy of your devotion, kid" She seethed "Besides, I'm way more of a mother to your kind than the stupid snake"
You could only give her a confused expression while you were getting choked but even if you weren't you were far too busy trying to suppress the pain to speak. A lot of bones had to have been broken with that enormous impact.
"Oh, you didn't know? I thought you knew your myths well" She laughed "Yeah, Quetzalcóatl ground the ancestral bones of mankind and mixed them with her own blood and the jungle's soil, which is why she claims motherhood of your kind... but did you ever stop to wonder where those bones came from? Yep, they were mine and my Tzitzimimeh's! And as I brought your kind into the world, it is my sole right to take you out of it!" She squeezed your throat harder, her sharp claws sinking into it, piercing your skin and making you bleed.
At the same time and while the chaotic goddess was focusing her fury on you she failed to hear the faint, gentle singing of another feminine voice, a delicate sounding one that had never been heard before... in this world...
"Hey diddle diddle~
The cat and the fidddle~
The cow jump'd over the moon~
The little dog laugh'd~
To see such craft~,
And the dish ran away with the spoon~."
A small cat-shaped bell of sorts made of glass with gold ornaments, full of water that looked like the night sky with stars included, was gently dropped to the ground though rather than shattering, it sank into it as if it had been thrown into water instead. A split second later, a giant fork that might've been more qualified to be described as a multi-tipped spear flew with incredible speed, striking Itzpapálotl right in the arm she had been holding you with, the fork sank into the flesh of her forearm, forcing her to let go of you.
Your back hit the ground harshly but your whole body felt so weak and perhaps somewhat numbs that you merely registered that you fell and not so much the pain it should've caused.
"Huh?" You weakly uttered and then several more giant forks, just like the first one, all flew towards Itzpapálotl, who crudely pulled the one stuck in her forearm off and proceeded to block and parry the incoming barrage with her hands and their claws that looked more like an eagle's talons.
Before you could even think of anything to say, you sensed something, another presence around that was neither your own nor Itzpapálotl's and certainly none of the other 2 goddesses. Looking out the corner of your eye you saw the figure of a woman or maybe more fittingly a girl that approached, although she floated barely above the floor, just enough not to need to walk and make any noises.
As she drew nearer you could see her better: A somewhat short girl, only slightly taller than Zuemy and like her, with a much fuller figure than one would expect, at least from the waist down, her chest was very modest in size but she seemed to have quite the massive butt, further accentuated by a skirt that definitely didn't fit and tights that squeezed the thick, soft thighs that went with it. Her skin was very pale, maybe paler than Jen's and more like Jordana's, her eyes were black just like yours. Her hair was rather short, reaching a little above her shoulders.
"An envoy of the gods?" Itzpapálotl growled as she tried to cover the wound the fork inflicted on her arm with her other hand, which then got wrapped in crimson flames that forcefully cauterized it.
"Who do you even serve? Tell your master to come and face me, I've got no time for lackeys!"
"Good evening. My apologies but I serve no one, not even gods" The girl replied politely, with a slight British accent to her voice as she gently lowered herself to the floor, standing right before you, putting herself between the raging murderous goddes and you "I'm afraid there's no one to relay your message to"
"Then who are you?! Begone before I rip you to shreds too!" Itzpapálotl spoke as she grabbed another obsidian knife from her belt, wielding now one in each hand.
"Oh, I'm but just one little girl" She said with a subtle smirk "But, so that you know: I am a witch of the Meinsters, pleased to meet you, Goddess" The girl even did a little reverential bow but the sarcasm was sharper than your grandpa's machete.
'Did I somehow die already? What the hell is this afterlife?' You thought. Evil monsters, the goddess that ruled over those and now a witch? Did someone just arbitrarily turn your life into some twisted fairytale? Whoever may have written this madness surely had no sense of anything! Well, at least she seemed to be on your side, though witches were always evil in the stories you knew but at this point you'd appreciate all the help you could get and of these two only one really wanted to murder you. Besides, as you lay immobile you were in no position to get picky.
There was at least one perk to this overall mess and that was that you were getting quite the eyeful as the witch's plump posterior practically overtook your visual field. It seemed like it might be as large as Lillian's but on her smaller body it looked even bigger. Self-awareness was quick to hit you like a cold bitch slap to the face and you closed your eyes. You would've shaken your head or slapped yourself if you had any energy left, it was a miracle you remained conscious but the point remained: Now of all times was not the moment to let your idiotic instincts distract you away from a literal matter of life and death.
And yet, just like Lillian's, that bubble booty apparently had a magnetic pull on your eyes because they opened again and were helping themselves to the jiggling eye candy against your better judgement but then you felt cold chills in your chest and sensed that you'd gotten caught. Gulping nervously you looked up and saw that the self-proclaimed witch was indeed looking at you from over her shoulder, although she didn't look too mad... wait, was she smirking?
But then there was a flash of red that only lasted a split second and somehow you felt like you were even more immobile, that even if you had the energy for it you still couldn't move. As if a powerful command forbid your body from acting, leaving only the most essential movements like breathing and blinking intact. However, you found that you could't even close your eyes anymore, you simply had no control over them like you had mere moments ago and all you could do is wonder what was even happening now...
