Jonas felt his face flush. "No—"
"Relax, kid. I don't give a shit." The worker jerked his thumb toward the open doors. "Go on. Just don't tell anyone I let you in."
Jonas stared at him. "Seriously?"
"Seriously. You look like you're having a rough morning. And honestly?" He grinned. "I've seen weirder stuff at this con. Last year a guy tried to sneak in dressed as a giant hot dog. You're practically normal."
Jonas let out a breath he didn't realize he'd been holding. "Thanks. Really."
"Don't mention it. Now get out of here before my boss shows up."
Jonas slipped through the metal doors and into a dim hallway lined with pipes and electrical panels. The air smelled like dust and industrial cleaner. He was inside.
I'm inside. I actually made it.
He walked down the hallway, following the sound of distant chatter and music, until he emerged into a massive exhibition hall. Booths towered on either side — artists selling prints, vendors hawking Funko Pops, a life-sized TARDIS with a line of people waiting to take photos.
Jonas stood at the edge of it all, barefoot, in yoga pants and a tank top, a woman in a sea of cosplayers.
Now what?
