"I got it out, Amanda!" You yell.
"Auh, gueate! Lemme Geh oo oup" Amanda responds eloquently. You have trouble finding your balance on her tongue as it undulates even under such non-speak, and gaze behind her molars towards her throat.
You then see a shadow cast over her mouth. Her fingers enter and reach for you.
Amanda plucks you out of her wet mouth and swallows the kernel with shut eyes and a smile.
"Thanks little guy. I couldn't have gotten it myself," Amanda says, beaming at the popcorn kernel between her fingers.
"OH MY GOD!!" She yelps. Amanda is shocked, confused, and afraid for her brother.
Carolyn shouts from behind the door: "is everything okay in there??"
"Mom!" Amanda rushes to the door. "I sw-swallowed Jake!"
Carolyn moans. "Don't tell me..."
"Mom! I - I was only asking him t-t-to clean out my teeth and th - oh I know I shouldn't have had him in my mouth OH MOM I'm so sorry!" Amanda is on the verge of tears, and hugs Carolyn. The hug is not reciprocated.
"Amanda... " says Carolyn, "don't you remember the last time this happened? Just stick your fingers down your throat, and -"
"Mommy!! Stop being silly. I can't reach Adam through my throat!"
Carolyn releases herself from Amanda's hug. "I mean for you to throw up."
"But mom..." Amanda says. "That's gross."
"Amanda, your brother is inside your stomach! Throw him up or I'll make you!"
