The sudden lurch of the bus did throw Morgan forward, in accordance with the driver’s plan, but she retained enough presence of mind to realise the danger of loosing you as her fingers clamped down like a vice. For a moment it seemed that the brunette was going to crash to the bus’s floor herself, but in the next instance her fall was halted as Quinn’s arm wrapped around her waist and held her steady, the pale girl’s free hand gripping the nearest hand hold and managing to stay steady even as Avery collided with her back with a small squeak of surprise. You meanwhile were being squeezed nearly to death as Morgan’s hand compressed you like a piece of putty, your roommate too preoccupied catching her breath and glaring daggers at the driver to notice your plight.

With the immediate danger passed the three hurried off the bus, though not without Quinn flipping off the driver in the process. Several of the other passengers still eyed the four of you as the vehicle pulled away, but that particularly threat was over for now. Once on solid ground, Avery made a show of throwing her arms around Quinn’s shoulders and thanking her for the save, only to laugh as her roommate shoved her off. The pinkette then shifted her gaze to her sister and you, a cheshire smile crossing her lips as she witnessed her twin’s fingers nervously playing with the squishy mass of flesh you had been reduced to. “My my, having some fun with Hunter are you Morgs?”

“Huh?” Eyes flitting down, Morgan gasped as she realised what she had done to you, quickly loosening her grip and inverting her hand so you were sitting in her palm, squished extremities slowly coming back together as you tried to catch your breath. “Oh God, I’m sorry Hunter. I just didn’t want to drop you. I wasn’t paying attention. I just…” She trailed off as she brought you closer to bump against her chest in what you assumed was intended as a comforting gesture. It went south fast though as Avery giggled and threw her arms around you both, momentarily crushing you between the twins’ chest before Quinn pulled her off with an eye roll and shove her towards the nearby building. Letting out a relieved breath, your current holder smiled down at you and followed.

By the time the four of you entered the imposingly large C.T.C building, you had managed to reform enough to stand up straight in Morgan’s palm, trying not to feel intimidated at the many women standing around in the expansive foyer, and wondering if there was a single man working here. Thankfully, your reticence didn’t slow Quinn down, as the curvaceous young woman made a beeline for the front desk and placed her hands down firmly in front of a bored looking receptionist. “We’re here to see one of your workers. First name Isabella.” The receptionist moved to respond, but your roommate spoke over her. “She issued a licence to my friend Hunter Woods. Without his consent.”

The receptionist appeared taken aback, surprise, and possibly offence, flashing across her face as she contemplated the outlandish allegation. Her jaw set as she prepared to respond, but she was interrupted by the sound of clicking heels as none other than Rachel herself strode out to meet you. “Hunter! I’m so glad you could make it, though I suppose I shouldn’t be surprised. You’ve always been one of my more punctual patients.” The smile that accompanied those words was warm and welcoming, and for a moment you were so shocked that her words didn’t register. When they finally did you found yourself wracking your brain in an attempt to determine just what she was doing.

Quinn meanwhile was immediately on guard against this new arrival, her own voice drowning out your first attempt to speak. “Who are you?” A raised eyebrow was her initial response, before Rachel turned to face the pale girl with a small frown. “I might ask you the same question. I don’t believe we’ve met, so I am curious what you are doing with my patient.” Not liking where this was going you tried to speak up, only to be drowned out once again by Quinn as she growled out her next words. “We’re his roommates. Now what exactly do you mean when you say ‘patient’?”

Rachel cocked her head at that, her expression seemingly thoughtful as she feigned considering the younger girl’s words. “It means that I’m his psychiatrist.” She tapped her chin. “Hunter never mentioned having roommates before. Is this a recent occurrence?” Whether the sinister woman was guessing or had seriously done her research you didn’t know, but Avery’s rapid nodding was all the answer she needed as she made a tutting noise with her tongue. “I see. Hunter you really should share these kind of things with me. It may be relevant to your treatment.” Her hand came to her mouth as she gasped, and just for an instant you saw something malicious flash in her gaze. “Oh no, please don’t tell me you forgot again Hunter. This is serious. Things might be getting worse.”

All at once you began to see the sinister game that Rachel was playing, realising that she had known you would come here and had prepared herself accordingly. Finally given the chance to speak you raged against her wicked intent. “You liar! Don’t listen to her guys. I’ve never seen a psychiatrist in my life, let alone her!” Though if you were honest, there were times that you could have used one.

Your attempts to continue were cut off as Rachel gasped dramatically once more, her hand moving to her chest as she faked an expression of deep concern and took a step towards you. “Oh dear, it’s worst than I thought. These slips of yours are happening far too often now Hunter. It may be a sign that you’re heading for a complete breakdown.” She shook her head sadly, though simultaneously sighed as if in deep relief. “Still, I’m so glad you decided to check-in when you did. Who knows when your next moment of lucidity might have been. At this point I think we cannot act quickly enough.”

You tried to scream out again that she’s lying, but your ability to breath was suddenly robbed from you as Morgan closed her fingers tightly around you in an unconscious attempt to shield you from the outside world. Not paying attention to her hand, the brunette eyed Rachel wearingly as she half-hid behind Quinn’s larger frame. “What do you mean ‘check-in’? Is Hunter in some kind of trouble?”

Seeing that her advance was putting the girls on edge, Rachel stopped and raised her hands in the universal sign of surrender. A hand moved to massage her brow as she adopted a troubled expression and glanced first at you and then at the three girls standing in her way. “Look. I really shouldn’t be sharing a client’s diagnosis with non-family members, but…” A sigh. “You do seem like good friends, and given Hunter’s current state of mind, I suppose I owe you the basics.” Leaning back against the receptionist’s desk, she folded her arms beneath her impressive chest and made a show of considering her next words. “Hunter here has been seeing me for some years now. Like many of his kind he is unfortunately suffering from a condition known as MDPD, or Minun Dissociative Personality Disorder. Minun being another term for what you would know as tinies. In Hunter’s case, his condition was most likely brought on by some unfortunate experiences in his childhood.”

Quinn, at least, looked like she had questions, but Rachel continued before your roommate could voice them. “In some cases, like Hunter’s, the personality switches in MDPD sufferers is known to cause temporary and often specific memory loss, including even complete denial of the condition and of any memories gained while under the affect of the core personality.” She gestured at you, still unable to speak thanks to Morgan’s tight grip, as if your prior words were proof enough. “I had hoped that he was getting better, but if he can’t even remember me right now after so many years of work, it may actually be getting worse.” A sad smile accompanied another shake of her head. “I suppose the stress of leaving home and trying to break into the workforce was just too much.”

Standing once more, Rachel fixed a smile on her face as she spread her arms as if in triumph. “Still. All is not lost. I approached Hunter a few week ago with the suggestion of a rather radical treatment. I had hoped it wouldn’t be needed, but Hunter disagreed, and it looks like he was right to do so.” You glared up at her as she smiled down at you, the tiniest of twitches at the edge of her lips the only sign that there was anything other than genuine kindness and concern behind that gaze.

Morgan’s fingers slackened and you tried to call out, but the next thing you knew you were forcibly torn from the brunette’s grasp and pressed forcibly into the chest of her twin sister, as Avery pulled you into a fierce hug fuelled by concern. Much to your discontent, the young model had bought fully into Rachel’s story, her eyes misting with tears as she crushed you against her assets. “Hunter, I had no idea. You should have told us if you were suffering. We would have done anything to help you.” You tried to protest but your mouth was clogged by cloth and boob, and what muffled noises you could make were drowned out as Morgan argued with the shorter girl about who should hold you.

While the twin’s turned their attention to fawning over you, Quinn fixed narrowed eyes on the woman who was trying to destroy your life, as of yet unsatisfied by her attempt at an explanation. Even if she hadn’t known you long, she’d seen enough to doubt you were truly suffering from this MDPD. “What kind of treatment, exactly, are we talking about? And how does any of this explain why you issued Hunter with a general use licence. How exactly was that meant to help him huh?”

Rachel sighed, looking for all the world like a weary retail worker dealing with a difficult customer, before finally fixing a look of concern on her face and advising Quinn that you…
