Stay with your grand elder elf acquaintance.
Giantess Frieren
chapter 11

Förster: I really should stay & fix my staff.
And, while I'm at it, pick your brain.
...
I want to clarify that I mean that metaphorically.
Frieren: I sure hope so.
Normally I wouldn't be afraid of that in a literal sense, but you are about the right size.
Fo: I guess a spell like this could be used in assassination...
Fern: Or being a pervert.
Fo: Please.
Do you know how many spells were made by actually perverts?
I heard of a spell that unravels fabrics & removes stitches.
Fr: Do you know such a spell?
Fo: NO!!
Fr:😞 Awe...
Fe:😠 Mistress Frieren.
Fr: What!?
It sounds like a useful spell to repurpose clothes.
Fo: Speaking of spells, you should know that all those spells that you read aloud on that stump are obsolete.
Food Restoration is the best spell available to make food edible once more.
Fr: Do you know that spell?
Fo: Yes.
There's 92 spells that you need to know to call yourself a Jaeger.
Fe: Jaeger? You're a hunter?
Fo: I am...
But, not exactly the kind you might know of...
Elfenhaft have a rich history of killing monsters & demons alike.
A long, bloody history...
However, it wasn't until about 50 years ago that a skilled Elfenhaft hero by the name of Yeager that discovered a way to kill demons & monsters without them dissolving into mana particles.
Allowing them to be harvested...
At least for monsters, mostly...
Fr: What could anyone possibly want to harvest from demons?
Fo: Of course you'd say that, slayer...
I can only imagine the number of demons that fell from your magic hands...
Tell me.
Of all of the demons you killed, were there any of them wielding magic that intrigued you?
Perhaps even magic that you wish to use yourself?
Fr:🤔 There are some that come to mind...
Why do you ask?
Fo: Yeager's spell works differently on demons than other monsters.
Unlike with monsters, which will instead lay dead like any other slain creature, Yeager's spell can only preserve so much of a demon's corpse...
Bones, teeth, nails, horns, and brains...
The rest of them are still susceptible to being obliterated via magic...
With the remains of their heads, their souls bound & trapped permanently.
Their consciousness being the last remnants of their existence...
It's a fate worse than death.
Anyway, through their consciousness, it's possible to learn their magic.
Of course, they're stubborn monsters, so they aren't exactly keen on teaching it. It's usually a mental battle where you either learn it from battling them, or making them submit & forfeit their spells.
Fr: Fascinating.
Fe: What would happen if you lose a mental battle?
Fo: It's not fatal.
You basically snap back to reality.
Bad dreams and/or insomnia can follow.
Fr: So, is this Mold Removable Spell really obsolete?
Fo: For food, yes.
It acts like a fungicide, which can kill the yeast needed to make most bread.
On the plus side, it'll get rid of Adventurer's Foot.
Fe: Adventurer's Foot?
[Equivalent to Athlete's Foot]
Fr: Oh, what a relief!
I can't even begin to figure out how many times I've gotten that in my life...
Even in Himmel's party, I think I got it a handful of times.
Thankfully Heiter was able to flush it out of us...
When he wasn't blackout drunk.
Fe: I do regret that Father Heiter didn't teach me any priestly skills.
Fo: From what I understand, not everyone in the continent is blessed by the Goddess per say.
Which is odd, because most Elfenhaft are blessed.
Apparently Raffiniert managed to convince the Goddess to bless Elfenhaft born after a certain point in the past.
Fr: So, you're blessed.
Do you know much Holy magic?
Fo: I know a bit.
I'll admit that I personally never trained much in that line of magic...
I do know of a spell to create healing bandages that can drastically increase the natural healing process of wounds.
They gradually grow more potent by absorbing ambient mana.
With that said, a mage could add their own mana to exponentially improve their effectiveness.
Fe: So, you can restore food to edible conditions and create magical healing bandages?
Mistress Frieren, are you thinking what I'm thinking?
Fr: I am.
Förster.
How would you like to join us on our adventure?
Fo:🤔...
I'll have to get back to you after my staff is fixed.
What brings you to Ruhe anyways?
Author's note:[Context] This town is OC.
Located in the southwestern most part of the Turk Region, West of Strahl, Northeast of the Capitol.
It acts as a halfway point from Strahl and the Turk Region, to the Capitol.
Fr: There's a village in the Turk Region that me & my previous party defended in the past.
It was near the beginning of our journey.
Fo: A trip down memory lane?
Fr: Something like that...
Fe: We came from Strahl.
We spent some time around there.
I even got my 3rd Class Mage certification while we were there.
Fo: A bit of a detour to be out here, huh...
Fr: Ruhe always has an adequate marketplace.
Fo: Understandable.
Fe: Anyways, I should go.
Take care you two.
[Fern leaves]
Fr: So...
I guess it's just you & me now.
