Giantess Frieren
chapter 10

Author's note: Sorry!
If you want a more risqué interaction with Fern, I might do a choice later, but feel free to pick a choice, or even make your own.
This is before Stark joins, about a year after Frieren & Fern head out on their journey.
[You managed to stay on Fern's shoulder, but you had to bite her skin to stop your descent]
Förster:😬 Crap!
Sorry!
[You crawl to the back of her neck & climb up her hair, getting close to her right ear to explain yourself]
🗣👂🏻 I'm going to holdout atop your head, hidden in your hair until we find a method of transport that is...
Let's say, less risky.
[She subtlety nods in approval.
You climb up to her hair, then remain prone on her scalp]
Wow!
You really take your personal hygiene seriously.
There's not so much as a flake of dandruff.
Fe: Thank you.
⏳️...
Fr: And here we are in our room.
Now tell me...
You mentioned settlements with your kind throughout the continent?
Fo: Yes, that's correct, grand one.
Although, they're rather sparse the further north you look.
Then again, there are Bahnbrecher out there creating gateways to Elfenheim.
Creating new settlements throughout the Adjacent Lands.
Fe: Mistress Frieren, what the heck is he talking about?
Fr:...
I haven't the faintest idea.
Fe: Why is that kind of terrifying?
Fo: I'll explain...
Long ago, when magic had yet to exist as we know it, an elf by the name of Raffiniert forsaw the inevitable extinction of elves.
Contrasting them to humans & other beings, Raffiniert concluded that due to elves seeming immortality to time, their libidos are sorely lacking.
Although this prevents them from overpopulating the world, since they don't breed like humans, or seed rats, it made them susceptible to a catastrophic purge.
Be it natural, or artificial.
Fr: It most certainly was artificial.
Fo: As I was saying...
Raffiniert knew that elves as a people & culture could be wiped from the map.
So, he sought to save elfkind via humankind.
Through hybridization.
The initial Elfenhaft took significantly longer to gestate than humans would, so he came up with a ritual to narrow the time gap considerably.
Of course, that's for the Direct Elfenhaft.
The Generational Elfenhaft, such as myself, gestate only 10% longer than our ephemeral cousins.
That be you & your people, Miss Fern.
Fern: So...
If I understand this correctly...
Your people are the result of elves and humans interbreeding?
Fo: Precisely.
Fr: So, how long do you Elfenhaft live?
Fo: We really couldn't tell.
It's generally believed that we might live as long as our grand ancestors do.
At the very least, we're theorized to live for several millennia.
Speaking of, there are quite many Elfenhaft that are older than you, Miss Frieren.
My parents are 2-3x older than you.
Fe: Out of curiosity...
How old are you?
Fo: Just turned 17 about a month ago.
You?
Fe: I'm 15.
Fo: Good to know.
Fr: So, is there a Elfenheim settlement nearby?
Fo: Not here, I'm afraid.
It's a potential location for it, but a team of Bahnbrecher would need to start one here.
They should be close by though, so I'm just scouting out a suitable spot.
I was killing time with some experimental spellcraft, but...
Well...
You know what happened.
Fr: Well, now you have a more appropriate environment to fix your mistake.
Fo: After I fix my staff, I'll be sure to dispel this prototype magic.
Fr: Surely you know that magic doesn't require a staff.
Fo: I do.
But staves exist for a reason.
Try telling a carpenter they don't need a hammer to sink nails.
Fr: Eisen didn't require one.
Fo: And what about you?
Do you have any spell that can sink in nails with magic alone?
Fr:🤔...
Nope!
Can't say that I do.
Fo: Exactly.
Fe: Well...
It's going to be time to eat soon.
Fr: I'm not all that hungry.
I might just stay here & continue reading my grimoires.
Fe:😮💨
I almost forgot to pick up the laundry.
[What do you want to do?]
