Married to a Real Ass Part 1 One Foot Tall Fiancé chapter 36 by copier · original author: worstfailure

Perhaps the luckiest thing that had happened to you last night was that at some point you blacked out. Granted it was in the fourth club out of five but it was better than being awake and aware for all of them. You woke up to the sounds of muffled voices nearby and recognized them as belonging to Tara and your mom. From the familiar weight, you knew Tara was sitting, and, compressed as you were in your cellulite prison, you could only make out bits and pieces of what they were saying.

"--n't it b--awkw--d? Ar--ure sh--kay w--is?" Your mother was speaking but her voice sounded like a walkie talkie with a bad signal.

"Absolutely!" Tara responded. You were able to hear her slightly better both because she had a naturally loud speaking voice and because of your... proximity to her. "After all, she's the reas--" Tara shifted in her seat blocking out her next words. "--chmaker."

Your mother giggled. "--f yo--ay s--"

You wondered if they were talking about you but they quickly veered off whatever topic they'd been discussing as your aunt talked your mother into watching an action movie marathon.

You were still in a state of shock over what your mother had agreed to last night. Even though she thought she was making you happy, letting your aunt do this to you felt like a betrayal. How could she think you'd want this?! You'd told her in the past that you wished people would be more careful around you, that being squashed was horrible, that Tara was always terrorizing you, but a few words from her sister and it was like she'd forgotten everything you ever said. How was it she'd known you your entire life but still didn't know the first thing about you?! Instead she was letting your aunt do whatever she wanted to you. Again.

Your only hope was that you'd get another chance to grab your mother's attention. You just needed to be patient.

TWO WEEKS LATER...

You had no idea how much time passed.

Trapped as you were, in the unending darkness of your prison, there was no way to know whether it was day or night. The only fleeting glimpses of light came whenever Tara changed her underwear but you could no sooner enjoy the light before it was cruelly snatched away, leaving you abandoned again in a cruel world of pitch blackness, sweltering heat and agonizing pressure. Different pressures came with different activities. The crushing pressure that felt like a mountain resting on top of you came from the countless hours Tara spent watching trash TV. The grinding pressure that felt like you were caught between two cruise ships scraping against each others sides came whenever she was walking, usually to the fridge to get a beer. Then there was the torture that came whenever she and your mom hit the clubs. That pressure felt like being trapped in a rocket that alternated between trying to break free of the atmosphere and falling back to earth. The sensation of vertigo coupled with the steady pummeling you sustained at the "hands" of her cheeks equalled a special kind of torture for you. The only mercy came when you finally blacked-out, only to awaken from a dreamless sleep as if no time had passed, trapped in total darkness, as flattened and powerless as ever. You weren't entirely sure if these periods of unconsciousness counted as sleep, because whenever you woke up you felt even more tired than you had been before you passed out.

During all the time that had passed, never once did anyone acknowledge you. Even though your mother's goodbye to you had been crudely interrupted, it was apparently sufficient for her, as she made no further effort to speak to you. You rationalized that Tara must've been doing everything in her power to keep your mom's mind off of you, to convince her to "respect your wishes" but it hurt all the same. With all the air-headed moves your mom had made over the years, you were terrified that she might've forgotten you already. Despite your pain and exhaustion, whenever you were awake you did your best to listen in for any mention of you but you never heard anything useful.

One day you woke up to the familiar crushing pain that came from Tara trying on a dress too small for her.

"--an't believe you still have this," Tara was saying.

"--nev--ad a ch--o wear i--ou know I--ver got m--" You could barely make out your mother's words between Tara's efforts to put on her dress. You assumed it was some skimpy outfit for clubbing. "--ere. Le--e--el--ou."

There was a sharp tug then even more pain as the cheeks clamped shut around you like pressurized doors on a starship.

"--ou--ok--utiful!" Your mother's words were fainter now than ever.

"--cking tight," Tara grumbled.

You heard a snuffling sound and realized your mother was blowing her nose into a tissue. "I--ish--mo--ould--ee--is."

These fragments of conversation were all you had to go on since Tara stopped talking to you. Once you realized she was ignoring you, it had honestly taken you by surprise. You'd been positive your aunt would never pass up an opportunity to make fun of you or to gloat, but so far she hadn't said a single word to you since the day she boarded the flight to your house. At first you were glad not to be subjected to her smug voice, but as more time went on, the more fear ate away at you. Left alone with only your thoughts, without anyone to talk to or fight against, you wondered if this was what the rest of your life would be like. After all, your mother had already given Tara her blessing. Maybe Tara wasn't speaking to you anymore because she didn't need to. You were right where she always intended you to be, and as the past few weeks had shown, you had no way of escaping on your own. Maybe this was how she intended you to live the rest of your life. Alone and ignored. The pain was excruciating enough, but now tedium had joined with it, creating a new kind of horror. A new kind of despair. You envisioned the rest of your life here. Seeing nothing, doing nothing, completely cut off from a world that neither knew nor cared about you. Day after day. Week after week. Month after month. Year after year. Forever. Here.

Panic set in. You tried to thrash your limbs, to break free, but the second you tried Tara's cheeks instinctively began to clench. The more she clenched, the more you tried to struggle, the more she clenched again and again and again until the darkness took you.

"Jake."

You blinked awake. You saw sunlight coming from a nearby window. And there was fresh air! Was this a dream? No, it couldn't be. You hadn't dreamed in... A month? Adrenaline hit you as you realized this was real! What happened? Had your mother finally come to her senses? Had Cassie called the police? It was then you realized nobody else was around. The person prying Tara's cheeks apart was Tara herself. You looked up. You couldn't quite see her face but you knew she was looking down over her shoulder. In your direction. Instantly you tried to move, to thrash free, to scream for help! But your body may as well have been melded into your aunt's cheek. In a rare turn of fortune your mouth wasn't squished shut. You tried to scream for help, but it had been so long since you last spoke no words came out. Tara felt the vibrations coming from your body and shushed you.

"Shhh, shh, shh, it's okay, squirt," your aunt said in a voice of surprising gentleness. "It's okay. Your fiancee's here."
