Without seeing Phil, she walks over to the seat. Phil quickly scans the area to look for a good getaway. He's too high up to be able to safely jump, and there is no where to climb. The seat is basically a large circular platform with no crevices to hide into nor structures to climb up. He has a few seconds as she drops her purse behind the seat, puts her tray down, and then begins to sit down. This was not much help for poor Phil though as he had no where to go.
Soon her butt begins its descent, leaving Phil's world in shadows. He desperately dashes to the edge of seat on the off-chance that the edge of the seat won't be covered when she sits down. As he runs, he can see the shadow above getting bigger and bigger, but is too scared to turn around and look at how much time he has.
