The sidewalk is too risky, so Phil chooses to chance it with neighbors. People tend to be nice and willing to help, right? Phil doesn't really know because until his first day of school, his mother sheltered him and never allowed him to go off on his own to meet people out of her sight. Phil never understood his mother's rationale that people couldn't resist the temptation to have fun with him.
He goes over to the house next door. He sees through the window that the living room light is on and that a woman is watching television. He slips under into her house and heads down the hallway into the living room. There is a woman, looking in her late twenties, lying on the couch absorbed into some soap opera. She's blonde, skinny, with average cleavage. She has a long pretty face and hair down to her shoulders. She is wearing a cheap T-Shirt and pajama bottoms, very clearly the clothes she slept in. She looks half-interested and half-bored as if she had nothing better to do. She is leaned back into the one side of the couch with her legs stretched across it. Her right foot is propped up on the couch; while her left foot kind of dangles off the side on the ground.
Phil is trying to figure out the best way to get the attention. Should he go for this left foot on the ground or try to climb the couch and contact her higher up in her body?
