It's too risky. Phil stays put. Soon he drifts back to sleep. He is awoken to hear Ms. Prittey fretting around. He could hear her walk around, take a shower, make breakfast, loudly slurp it up, among other things. Soon he hears the door open and close as she leaves for work, another day of teaching.
Phil sits there for about 30 minutes, not sure what to do. He hasn't eaten in a while and is rather hungry. The tightness of his hiding spot is also starting to hurt his neck. He hasn't heard any noise in the house for several minutes, so the area is probably safe. She won't be back for another few hours after school ends. Now might be the best time to leave the spot and escape from Ms. Prittey's home. Does he risk it now?
