Phil Runs Into Ms. Carter My name is Phil Tiny chapter 21 by copier · original author: aypgirl

As Phil crawled up Betsy's throat, he felt the snake's throat muscles working twice as hard to push him back down. Phil increased his efforts and climbed harder than he thought possible, working much more diligently that he had done the first time. He knew that at his height he might be a target for animals, but never thought he would spend his day escaping from a snake's throat, twice.

When Phil finally reached the top he once again forced Betsy's mouth open and leaped out. This time, though, Betsy seemed to have given up hope of keeping Phil, and just lay down, exhausted from the ordeal. Phil felt victorious and climbed out of the cage. Rather than risk being caught in the house, Phil ran towards the window to escape.

"Phil!" he heard a voice call out from behind him. He turned around to see Ms. Carter standing in the room, hands on her hips. "What did I tell you about leaving the cage!" she demanded. Phil decided to stand up for himself and said "I don't care what you told me, I wasn't going to let that snake eat me." Ms. Carter walked over and picked Phil up. "Listen," she said to him through gritted teeth, "you lost your fight and therefore became food. That is the way the world works." Phil thought for a moment and said "but I managed to escape, so that means I won the fight." Ms. Carter shook her head and replied "no, it means that after you lost you tried to escape your punishment. I can't stand for this."

Ms. Carter lifted Phil up above her head and said "I told you what would you happen if you left the cage." Phil stopped acting tough and switched to begging. "Please Ms. Carter," he said "don't eat me." Ms. Carter opened her mouth and tapped at Phil's feet with her tongue. "If I don't eat you," she said "then you will never learn." Phil flailed about and said "but if you do eat me then I'll die." Ms. Carter shrugged and said "but you'll have learned your lesson. And as your teacher, that is my role, to teach you right from wrong, at all costs." As she lowered Phil to her mouth she said "besides, there's a chance you could survive this."

Phil screamed and struggled as he was brought closer to Ms. Carter's gaping, open mouth........
