Hannah and Phil listened to Ms. Prittey closely. They didn't talk, having nothing much to talk about, so both were working hard.
Phil started when Hannah flinched behind him. Turning around, he saw Hannah reach up to her neck and pull a small ad of paper off her neck. 'Loser.' muttered a voice behind her. Hannah just slumped slighly and kept on working.
At the end of the class, the bell rang and Hannah stood up and pulled a green beanie over her head. 'Uh, Hannah?' Ms Prittey called out to her. 'Can you look after Phil at recess?'
'Uh, Okay.' said Hannah quietly. She picked up her books and lowered one of her hands for Phil to climb into. She had slender fingers, and Phil wondered if she played a musical instrument. Hannah lifted Phil up to her shoulder.
'Grab onto some of my hair, alright?' she almost mumbled. Phil complied, holding on to one of the dark red bangs poking out from under her beanie. Then he noticed something. Was Hannah blushing?
They left the classroom and headed for Hannah's locker.
