Rem defeated confessed that Subaru got shrunk somehow and she hide him in her sock to prevent him from get lost or injured.
Meanwhile Subaru was squeezed by Rem's toes the whole time, this happened because she got nervous by the situation above and unconsciously started to treat Subaru as a stress ball.
Crusch Karsten surprised since she didn't sensed lies in Rem's words asked to let Subaru out to get a look of him.
Rem sat in a nearby chair and started taking off her shoe and then her sock which was drenched in sweat from the heat and the slow walking back to the mansion, because of this the sock was a little glued to her skin, not wanting to leave Subaru in her sock she grabbed him with a vice.
Once she removed the sock she crossed her leg and placed her hand under Subaru, finally letting go of Subaru from her toes. In her palm Rem lifted subaru up to eye level.
"Are you alright Subaru." Rem asked caringly.
"Yeah I think so" Subaru said more than anything dizzy from the trip, falling on his back in Rem's palm.
She giggled seeing such a cute scene.
"Ahem, well what happened to you Subaru? Questioned Crusch Karsten.

"Ok then we need to figure out how to proceed, I need take down a beast that terrorizes towns and villages, and you need to save Emilia, so I propose you a deal, you said that you attract witch beasts, right?, well then if you come with me and help me killing the flying whale, I will lend you some troops to help you with the witch cult what do you say is a deal?" Crusch Karsten said expectantly of what Subaru will respond, just realizing she was playing with Subaru the whole time so she let go of him, letting him get back to his feet.
Slightly disoriented, Subaru began to answer Crusch Karsten's idea. "Well if that is the best way to rescue Emilia, the mansion and the town I will do it"
"Excellent then I will do the preparations we will confront the whale tomorrow at night, any question?" Said Crusch Karsten.
"I don't think so... wait, wait actually I have a question how I will participate during the battle at this size?" Asked Subaru worryingly.
"Well I have an idea but I want to speak with Rem first so let's back to the main hall" Crusch Karsten said grabbing Subaru without warning, and heading towards the hall. Where was Rem waiting impatiently.

"So I think in order to defeat the whale I need to hide Subaru in my shoe as you did earlier, that way the whale will attack me and it will be easier to hit with my sword" Crusch Karsten said satisfied with her plan.
What took Subaru off guard since he didn't expected to be in a shoe again even less in the shoe of rival of his beloved one.
Rem din't liked the idea either but accepted reluctantly since was the only option to rescue her sister, Emilia, the Roswaal mansion and the town.

"Ok then Subaru I will be completely distracted, when the battle starts, so try to get in the toe area of my boot, anyway I asked Felix to cast on you a protection spell during your last treatment" Crusch Karsten said placing Subaru in her boot and waiting a moment to let him get in place.
"Well its time so let's go" Said Crusch Karsten putting her boot and feeling Subaru underneath her toes, was a weird feeling but a good one she decided not think much about it and started the trip to defeat the whale.

For Subaru, the heat, and pressure, increased, the constant motion of the battle disoriented him, and the increased sweat threatens to drown him, this continued until he passed out.
Hours later he wake up in Rem's embrace she was asleep holding him in her hands, with the movement Subaru made, she finally woke up.

Rem explained that they won the battle and that everything was ok, also said that Crusch Karsten wanted to thank him. So she took him to her they where camping in a field with an enormous tree, and the whale carcass farther.
"Welcome, Subaru you did a great service for our country I'm very grateful with you so much that I would like to propose you something. I would like to extend an invitation to be part of my entourage. Of course I will fulfill my part of the deal but after rescuing Emilia and her people you can decide whether to stay with her or come with me what do you say" Crusch Karsten said.
She had liked Subaru very much in the last two days, she began to think that Subaru could become a wonderful pet, since he helped her relax during battle, and also helped her focus her thoughts.
