Blake groaned and then propped his body up on his elbows. He looked at the monolithic structure that was Indigo's sneaker and felt his face fall slack. The sheer size of a shoe dwarfed him. The worn and cracked rubber treading of her dirty, beat-up blue Converse sneaker was just a little bit taller than he was. The fabric of the shoe was also a bit dirtied, as it seemed Indigo cared little for extensively maintaining her footwear. Blake turned his gaze upward to the overhanging foot and saw it fanning towards him idly. The sole of her shoe was worn down deeply. The traction ridges were nearly smoothed out. Indigo's foot bobbed and fanned up and down rhythmically like a pendulum ready to strike. Blake tightened his fists and steeled himself, then rose to his feet.
This was certainly a problem. Instead of starting from the midpoint, he had fallen all the way to the bottom. If it was difficult to get her attention while on her desk, it would certainly be a challenge to get her attention now. Blake looked at Indigo's legs. The sheer cliff face of her shins towards her knee. He thought about climbing but stopped himself. His last line of thinking got him here, shrunk down and on the floor of his crush. Maybe now would be the time to think things through. Blake thought once more about his plan and realized that even if he were able to scale the surface of Indigo's leg, he would have to cross over her other leg that rested on her knee. Blake took a few steps back, hoping that would provide a bit more perspective. He received nothing.
Blake continued to look around to see if he could come up with a solution. Perhaps he could use his magic to lift him back up to her desk. Blake was able to lift himself at least a few feet in the air ... before falling over. But that was before he shrunk. The distance between the floor and the desk or even her chair may be too great for him to traverse. Thoughts of climbing the desk itself crossed his mind, but again Blake knew his proficiency was in magic, not athletics, and even his magic was hit-and-miss at times. Blake started to pace a bit, this was just one problem after the other. What could he possibly do to-
*Shhhhhhhhhhhhift*
Blake turned toward the sound of rubbed fabric. It was Indigo's shoe that had moved against the carpet. Blake looked up at Indigo's legs. In a moment, Indigo uncrossed her legs and then planted both of her feet on the floor.
*THOOM*
The act shocked and shook Blake and caused him to fall onto his rear again. Blake watched as the two massive structures started moving with startling speed and dexterity. Blake saw Indigo raise her left heel and moved her right foot behind it. She then pulled down on the heel of her shoe and popped her socked foot free from its confines. Indigo partially withdrew her foot from her sneaker to the point her toes were supporting the nearly empty footwear.
*Schhhhhfffff*
Then, with a curt flick, Indigo flung her shoe forward! Blake ducked to the floor as her shoe was chucked against the back of her desk before it clunked to the floor.
*THUNK ... CLUNK*
Blake looked up just in time to see Indigo's socked toes pry and pull her other shoe's heel and popped that foot free as well! Blake's eyes widened, and he curled up defensively. He braced himself as he heard it slide off her foot and then get flung over his body.
*Schhhhhfffff*
*THUNK*
Once he heard the thunk behind him, Blake raised his head and saw Indigo's socked feet before him.
Opposed to her shoes, her socks were a nice clean white, the threading was clean and straightened with minimal fraying. As Blake once again rose to his feet, he noticed how cold Indigo's room was. Was. Since Indigo removed her stuffy shoes, it seemed the area underneath her desk was warming just a little. Indigo's feet seemed to radiate that warmth. Blake felt it behind him too, and turned to see her discarded shoes were also radiating that same bodily warmth. It was then the scent started to fill the air. Indigo was a clean person and favored bodily hygiene, so the smell that laced the air was one filled with floral scents with hints of lavender and strawberries. However, despite the effort, the underlying smell of feet was present. Blake felt his face flush as he realized how dangerous Indigo taking off her shoes could be to a person of his size. The sheer strength needed to move something as big as her shoes left him in awe and made Blake increase his respect and admiration for the usually timid introvert.
Indigo's socked toes wiggled and drummed along the floor. The sound of the clacking keyboard resumed. Indigo's feet returned to a mostly still position, idly twitching or flexing as Indigo typed. Maybe this was what Blake needed. Perhaps he could get her attention this way! Blake tried to think about how to approach this situation better, trying not to rush into things...
Blake could try to rub her toes. Rub into her foot, too, maybe. Though that may be a bit dangerous if she couldn't feel him, or worse if she did but tried to snuff him out. As Blake looked at her feet some more, Blake felt something start stirring inside him. Something about seeing them so big and up close was causing Blake to feel even more flustered than usual. Blake shuddered as he tried to think why. He looked back toward Indigo's shoes, and he came to the conclusion that he was curious. For some reason, he just REALLY wanted to explore and admire Indigo's shoes... and her feet. Blake blush slightly and thought about what to do.
