"Are you really going to do this again? after all we went through?" Katara once again lost it seeing how Toph still showed no desire to help at all with any chores. She did feel bad the last time she lashed out at her while Azula and her two teammates relentlessly followed Appa, but it irked her how even if the newest team Avatar addition was a woman like her, she was just a childish brat. And Katara knew, as the only mature person in the group, this situation wasn't going to be sustainable.

"I told you sugar queen, I carry my own weight. You really need to stop trying to boss me around" Toph retorted in a defiant tone. Even if she considered the advice she received from that old man back then as valuable, she still perceived the treatment as unfair. They were a team, but they could take of such inane things on their own like she did.

As Toph used earthbending to create her rock tent considering the discussion over, Katara kept arguing back at her.

"Stop calling me that! I'm not asking for a favor. You really think it's fair that we have to pick up after you every time we camp just because you can make a separate tent?"

"What is that supposed to mean? I have never asked you to do anything, Katara" Toph was about to earthbend a "door" to her tent like on her past talks, but that last comment struck a nerve on her. She was an independent girl, she didn't need help from anyone, much less someone like Katara who seemed hellbent on being as annoying as Toph's parents.

"That doesn't mean we can leave every place we decide to camp on like a dumpster. Maybe if you weren't so gross you could be more helpful instead of being so burdened 'carrying your own weight'" Katara pounced, noticing too how much the comment affected Toph and showing her she wasn't above mean biting comments if it meant getting everyone in the team to contribute and stop being so immature.

"I am NOT gross" Toph growled, creating small shockwaves that were noticed by Aang and Sokka, who were trying to stay away from yet another argument between the pair.

"Oh, you aren't? -" Katara sarcastically replied, ready to enumerate all the little transgressions she could remember, from the trash she always left behind carelessly to her uncouth manners unbecoming of a woman, let alone one that came from a refined background. Even if it wasn't related to helping with setting up the camp it bothered Katara, and she saw no problem using it now that she knew it bothered Toph

"Katara" Aang interrupted her rant, giving her a pleading look that she understood as "I don't want to lose my earthbender teacher for good this time". Katara was a bit shocked that Aang wasn't on her side as he usually was, but she took solace in knowing Toph was so annoyed she had no smart retort for her after she was interrupted.

"Ugh, whatever" Katara raised her arms exasperated and ended the discussion, while Toph just glared there before locking herself inside her tent not even thanking Aang who just sighed, knowing that regardless of how they both were fighting on the same side, it would take a while for the two to become friends and look past their differences.

The next day Katara settled for an unwanted truce, not wanting to cause more drama for now for Aang's sake. Toph's tent remained closed when she woke up, and she frowned at the thought of having to pick up after her bratty teammate again but focused instead on other chores and went to gather some food and water for the team. Along the way she found something strange, a shining object on the floor that caught her curiosity but as she approached turned out to be a trap.

A flash of light blinded her momentarily and the next time she opened her eyes Katara thought she was somehow transported to another world, until she realized how familiar everything looked. 

"How?" Katara thought as she noticed the bucket she was carrying now towering above her like a mountain compared to her size, and in the distance a small rodent that was now as big to her as Appa. Relieved that at least her waterbending still worked, even if it was scaled down too, she carefully started tracking back until she saw someone approaching. It was a friendly face, yet the last person she wanted to see at the moment.

"Huh?" Toph was working out her frustration kicking a small pebble along the way when she sensed the full bucket of water nearby. She knew the boys were still snoring at the camp, so she figured out Katara would be around too but, she wasn't able to perceive her. Was she taking a bath? She didn't hear anything moving in the river either, the only strange thing was a tiny animal that she didn't recognize yet seemed strangely familiar for some reason.
