Lauren's expression softens as she gazes down at you, still pinched delicately between her colossal fingers. The sheer scale of her is overwhelming; each ridge of her fingerprint is a deep canyon to you, her nail a polished marble wall. The scent of her jasmine perfume mixed with the faint, warm musk of her skin fills your senses.
"Aww, my poor little son," she coos, her voice a gentle, rumbling bass that vibrates through your very bones. "Look at you, all grimy and stressed. Let's get you cleaned up before we go out."
With immense care, she carries you toward the kitchen sink. The journey is a dizzying panorama of your own home. The living room carpet transforms into a sprawling, tangled jungle of beige fibers. The kitchen tiles rush by below like a vast checkered plain. She sets your battered buggy on the counter with a soft *click*, then turns her attention back to you.
She turns on the faucet, and the roar of the water is like a waterfall unleashed in a cavern. Steam billows, instantly fogging the air around you. She plugs the drain and lets the basin fill with a few inches of lukewarm water. To you, it's a shimmering, turquoise lake, its surface gently sloshing against the porcelain sides.
Lauren then squeezes a single, minuscule droplet of baby soap into the water.*
You stand at the edge of the vast, soapy lake, the porcelain of the sink basin cool and smooth beneath your bare feet. Looking up at the monolithic form of your mother, Lauren, you realize the futility of shouting. Your voice would be nothing more than a faint squeak, lost in the ambient hum of the house and the gentle lapping of the water.
So, you resort to what you can do. You cup your hands around your mouth, a gesture that feels utterly futile at your scale, and project your gratitude upwards. You try to make your expression as earnest as possible, hoping the sheer force of your will might somehow translate across the vast gulf of size difference.
Even without your walkie-talkie, your intent seems to cut through the noise. From her incredible height, Lauren's emerald eyes, each one a shimmering green planet, narrow slightly as she focuses on your tiny form. A soft, knowing smile spreads across her full lips.
"Oh, you're welcome, sweetheart," she rumbles, her voice a comforting vibration that resonates through the sink itself. "I know you appreciate it. You've always been a good boy at heart."
Her approval washes over you, warmer than the bathwater she's prepared. It seems your message, conveyed through pure intent and a lucky break, has been received loud and clear.
"Now, let's get you in," she says, her hand descending towards you once more.
