The glass around Abby jostled despite Ellie taking her time getting home. Abby could feel the rhythmic pounding of this giantess's footsteps along the dirt road, and part of her took some comfort in them. There was a very real possibility that Abby might've been left down there in the dirt to survive, had Ellie not adopted her as a pet.
"Bring the cup back when you're done, please, Ellie!" Maria shouted from the doorway. From behind her, it looked like Joel and Tommy were talking about something serious.
"I will!" Ellie shouted back. She glanced back down into the cup and covered her mouth. "Shit, I'm sorry, that was probably really loud... You're gonna be safe, I'll make you a house and everything". Ellie whispered. Her eye darted left and right, making sure nobody saw her shrunken prisoner.
Indeed, the sound was exceptionally loud; Abby's ears were still ringing when Ellie whispered from above. "Fuck you, kid!!! Grow me back!!!" Abby shouted up angrily. "I don't want your sympathy, you DID this to me!!!"
Ellie's face scrunched up like she was trying to listen. "Sorry, dude, can't hear a word you're saying. We'll figure out how to talk soon, ok!" Abby leaned against the wall and scowled.
For a moment, it looked like Ellie was about to enter one of the most beautiful homes Abby had ever seen. Its walls were painted blue, and inside looked freshly furnished, like the collapse of society had skipped over it. Instead, Ellie turned sharply and walked towards an off-white, run-down garage that was attached to it and opened the door. "Welcome to your new home! Sorry about the mess, I'm still putting it together!" Ellie beamed above, but what Abby saw was a nightmare for someone as small as herself. The room was covered in old boxes filled with all sorts of junk like posters, lamps, and anything else you'd find in the attic of a house. The air smells stale with a slight hint of mildew. Ellie walked over to the desk in the corner and placed the glass bottle down gently in the center, and turned it sideways. "Ride's over, tiny. Hang tight, I'm going to look for a temporary home for yah!" Abby crawled out of the glass and watched as Ellie rummaged chaotically through box after box. Slowly, Abby inched her way over to the edge of the desk and considered escaping then and there. But it was useless; if by some miracle Ellie didn't accidentally step on her, she'd probably get eaten by a bug or mouse.
"Found it!" Ellie announced from across the room. Abby watched as her captor excitedly rushed back over, carrying a hollowed-out tissue box. The sudden rush of air blew Abby back an inch or two, and she landed harshly on her ass. Abby felt like screaming up at this careless teen, but as she stood up, Abby was greeted with a way too up-close view of Ellie's denim-clad crotch. She could actually feel Ellie's body heat radiating off of it. Averting her gaze, Abby watched as Ellie shoved some small rags inside the box and carved a small entrance into the side with her switchblade. Ellie then poked some air holes into a strip of tape to act as a door. She then did the same thing to an entire wall of the box to act as a giant window. "Not much, but I'd say it's a start!" Ellie said, proud of her handiwork. Not daring to disobey her captor and wanting to get away from the awkward view as quickly as possible, Abby rushed inside the box before Ellie resealed the entrance with tape.
"I gotta go return this, and talk with Joel..." Ellie paused, looking anxious. "I can't imagine what you must be feeling right now, but I wanna help anyway I can. Just stay put for a while, and we can hang out later tonight, ok?" Before leaving, Ellie placed two bottle caps inside the box, one with water and another one that was probably supposed to be Abby's toilet. Abby watched the girl's giant fingers exit the box before her presence disappeared entirely with the slam of a door. Abby was finally alone.
Looking around, the holes in the tape in front of her were too slim to climb out of, but maybe with some where and tear, she could break free. It would be incredibly risky; getting caught now could possibly turn her only friend in all this into an enemy. The safest option might be to win Ellie over in the coming days. Eventually Abby decides to.....
