Was This Avoidable? Yes

You were walking for what felt like miles. Yes, the bat was on the other side of the room, but it had seemed much closer before. Your stomach churns as you walk, something in that sandwich was probably expired? Trying your best to ignore the feeling, you continue to walk and walk and walk. You feet hurt like hell and you keep tripping on small splinters in the ground you could have sworn were never there before. You look again to check your progress and this time the softball bat was even FURTHER away than when you started. Something wasn't adding up and that sickening feeling in your stomach extended up towards your head when you realized what was happening.

You were shrinking...

And rapidly too by the looks of things, staring at the bat you notice its shape expand taller and further outward. You collapse onto your knees and wail. What a stupid thing to have done, why couldn't you have just stayed on the table? By the time Sarah arrived home, you had shrunken to mere nanometers in height and while the dog-sized bacteria around you wasn't much of a problem, you simply didn't stand a chance against Sarah's planetary, Sweaty sock as it smothered the world around you...
