*This chapter loosely adapts elements from a couple of Ava's scenes in the original game beta, but isn't a straight adaptation of either.*

The day progressed without issue. Class seemed to blur by, another reminder that your life revolved around the events with the heroines. It felt kind of strange- on one hand you remembered going to class, but it felt... well, for lack of a better term, it felt like any time you weren't living out one of the events with a heroine, life was on fast-forward.

(((Hey Shujin! It's lunchtime soon, and you know what that means!)))

'Let me guess, time for another event?'

(((Guessed it in one! Hmm... look outside!)))

You did as the narrator recommended, and your eyes nearly bulged out of their sockets at the sight of a familiar tiny pink-haired girl outside the school gates. It wasn't against the rules for students to leave school for the long lunch period, but...

You WERE certain that the school faculty didn't approve of any students climbing up telephone poles like that!

Jogging through the slightly crowded halls, you made your way outside.

'Oh geez, the game made this sound so normal, but she's pretty high up. I don't know if I can catch her if she falls...'

"Hey, Ava, right?" You called up to the girl perched on the telephone pole. How the hell had Ava gotten way up there in the first place? You didn't see any climbing equipment on her!

"Hmm? Oh, you're... Shugen?" You had to avert your eyes as Ava looked down at you- you weren't sure if she realized it, but she was giving you a pretty clear look right up her short uniform skirt!

Given that your current goal was to increase the bust size of all the heroines, you'd have a hard time doing that if any of them were pissed off at you for peeking up their skirts.

"Shujin."

"Right, right, that's what I meant." Ava trailed off, not quite making eye contact with you. You could clearly tell that she was more focused on looking at the students entering the schoolyard than she was at paying attention to you at the moment.

"So, uh... what are you looking for?"

That was probably the wrong thing to say, judging by the way Ava immediately... well, 'gave you the stink eye' wasn't the right term to use here, but Ava did cast a noticeably suspicious look at you.

"...Who's saying I'm looking for anything in particular?"

It was a good thing that the heroines' breasts didn't shrink when you lost affection with them. Not that you thought your rep with Ava had just taken a significant hit, but still. You kind of shot yourself in the foot with this one.

"I mean... well, you aren't really paying attention to me right now. Not that that's a problem! I just mean, it looks like you're more interested in the people around us."

"Mmm. Not really. People aren't interesting to me. But if you must know..." Ava looked up at you, brow furrowing.

"I suppose there's no harm in telling you. I'm keeping an eye out for lizard people!"

"Lizard... people?"

"Yeah! You know, reptilians?" Ava's voice dipped into a conspirational whisper.

"You never know who among us might be one of them!" Ava hissed, getting right up in your face (or as close to it as her diminutive height allowed for.

"So... you think that lizard people have infiltrated the school?"

"Um, no?" Ava said it like you'd just said something monumentally stupid.

"I'm just... Ugh..." Ava rolled her eyes before shimmying down the poll- almost like a house cat with how agile she was- and dropping to the ground in front of you.

"If you really want to know, it's not just reptilians that I'm looking for. I'm keeping an eye on the students leaving campus for lunch. You know, looking for little tells, signs, that sort of things.

"Oh, you mean signs of anything suspicious? Like the kind of thing that might tell you that they're a lizard person, or crab person, or something else disguised as a human?"

No sound of fabric stretching, but Ava's eyes did light up a bit, so you knew you were on the right track now.

"Yeah, exactly! I already know all about humans; biology, anatomy, and so on, and to be honest... people are pretty boring. I don't have any proof that there's anybody hiding any secrets like that around the school, but I'll find anyone who is!" Ava exclaimed, eyes shining.

"So... that camera is for taking pictures, recording evidence, that sort of thing?" You pointed at the camera that was slung around Ava's neck from a sturdy looking strap.

It was resting on Ava's chest. A pretty flat chest, to be exact.

But 'pretty flat' wasn't the same as 'totally flat.' There WAS proof that Ava had benefitted from her meeting with you the other day.

"Oh, um... actually... The camera is so I can take pictures for the school newspaper." Ava finished rather lamely, trailing off towards the end. Almost like the paranormal investigator was ashamed at having to admit her involvement in such a mundane activity.

"That sounds cool!"

"R-really? That's not what I was expecting you to say..."

Dang, still no wonderful fabric-stretching sounds. You had been sincere, though. A club like that probably got to see a lot of interesting stuff around the school.

"Yeah, I mean... it probably helps you observe everyone around you. And I might not know you that well, but I'd imagine that you're pretty darn good at observing anything worth getting people's attention."

"You're laying it on kinda thick, don't you think?"

Shoot, were you pushing too hard? It wasn't like anything you were saying was a lie.

"I hope not. I just meant... well, someone like you must be a valuable member of the newspaper club! If you're this keen on observing other people, I can only imagine that it means you must take some pretty great photos!"

*Stretch*

And there it was, that wonderful sound you'd been waiting for! Ava's cheeks colored slightly, her chest pushing forwards slightly. It almost looked like she'd taken a deep breath, but even as she spoke up, the 'puffed out' look to her chest remained. It wasn't enough to push her out of the A-cup range, but... Ava had started out flat as a board, so even a small increase was noticeable on her.

"Oh! Um... I mean... I try to help out. I like the club more because it gives me the opportunity to look all over the school for hidden mysteries, but I DO take my duties as a photographer seriously!"

"That's good to hear. I'm pretty knew here, so it's good to meet a public figure."

"Well, I definitely wouldn't call myself a public figure, but I know my way around the school. It's not good to be in the limelight- you never know when some alien overlord or reptilian mastermind might be spying on you!" Ava hissed, though you could see that she looked pleased right now.

Strangely enough... you saw the front of Ava's shirt push forwards slightly again- and you hadn't even said anything!

That was important to know- you didn't have to say anything to trigger an affection increase. \

'Guess that makes sense. Actions speak louder than words, and someone who's so solitary like Ava is probably enjoying having a conversation with somebody who isn't treating her like a wacko.'

Ava's shirt was intended for her tiny, flat-chested form, and right now... well, she was probably just hitting a B-cup thanks to her high spirits.

Wait.

Shit.

If Ava was totally flat beforehand... was she even wearing a bra right now? You didn't dare look, even though she was keeping her brown blazer buttoned up over her blouse, but you were pretty sure if she wasn't wearing a bra right now, she'd be going shopping for one first thing as soon as school ended. Thank God the Narrator had explained to you that the heroines wouldn't realize the growth had happened until after each event ended... if they even did then!

Like Ai, Kiyoko, and Izumi had all grown by a not insignificant amount. Did that mean that they'd noticed their sudden bust increases since you'd last talked to them? All of them (but Ai especially) had grown fairly significantly; a good handful of centimeters each.

That might not sound like much, but to them (and Ava, and ANY girl really) growing multiple centimeters in one day was something unheard of- a damn physical anomaly!

"Well... it's been fun talking with you, and I mean that, Shujin. But I should probably go grab my lunchbox before the lunch period ends. See you around!" Ava called out; as you realized that you'd been spacing out enough for Ava to lose interest in your conversation with her. Whoops. Good think she was kinda flighty naturally.

'I should probably go get some food too.'

*When does your next/last event of the day take place, and who is it with?*
