Both of you have been through rigorous training for years, learning only the finest way to snap someones neck and patience. While your 'friend' is making checks on her final scheme and software, an error occurs. A fast, fatal, disgusting error occurs not twenty feet before you. A merciless beast only known by Kenji, who has found out about your plans to enslave mankind. He has been sinking your ships ever since they appeared on his radar, one operation failed after another.
Not a second passes, and in that single instant he mows down Lily, knocking her head against the railing and shattering her scalp on impact. His face is a deformity of determination and savagery, with a trail of embers fleeing from his dark sockets.
All of your work, hard earned and wagered, has been torn to shreds in a single instant.
All you can do is collapse onto the linoleum and cradle your limp comrade, tears leaking from your eyes. Your comrade leans in, sparks flying from the crack in her skull, eager to spread her last words to you. Her mouth moves, but all you hear is silence. Her words don't need form to reach you, because before your eyes, she dies before you, her last message still fresh in your mind,
"Moonmans' been smooth since the days of killing jews".
