Epilogue
Bug's Eye View Chapter 4

Some time passed since the events of the fateful lab accident that changed Agatha’s life forever. Without proper funding, and without Agatha, her lab was closed. What little was left of her research was documented, but ultimately forgotten. Alexander, being only a lab assistant, could never hope to pick up the pieces of Agatha’s research, and simply made sure that her findings were passed along to other scientists that could make use of them, but most of it simply would not see the light of day again…

That wasn’t the end of the story however.

The Chitinian Colony was released into the wild, not far from where Agatha’s lab had been. They were smarter than the average Chitinians, thanks to Agatha’s research, and were quickly able to adapt to their new surroundings and fully move out of their tank relatively quickly. But one might wonder… What of Agatha and the Queen?

Somehow, having not given completely into depression and anger, Agatha vowed to keep going. If the world wasn’t going to save her, then she’d have to save herself. The Queen treasured the small scientist, keeping her close at all times. Using this fact, and all of the knowledge about the Chitinians she’d gained thus far, she began to speed up the Queen’s, and therefore the colony’s, education. The Chitinians grew smarter and smarter every day, Agatha and the Queen were almost able to hold an entire conversation, even if in broken English. Soon, Agatha aided the Queen in guiding her colony to new levels of prosperity and effectiveness. Hopefully they could find a way to establish contact with a scientifically minded individual that would help show the world that Chitinians were far more than just bugs. If her luck held out, Agatha hoped she would find a path back to her normal height, and her normal life.

Only time would tell, but that is a story for another time…
