Strong dizziness, followed by aching muscles, like they were clenching down to his very bones. The elixir was causing all sorts of peculiar feelings in the foreign system, and it was all building up towards something big. The frantically writing hand dropped its instrument as the violent trembles took over; not only was his script becoming illegible at an accelerated pace, Will was afraid that he might snap his pen in half.
"Urrgh!"
His eyes closed on instinct. What flashed before his eyes was a visage from past, a time when a terribly overgrown troll had gotten its hands on him. He was thankfully saved with only a few broken bones, but to this day that had easily been the worst pressure he had ever been under. Whatever the elixir was doing felt a great deal worse than that. His body wasn't being crushed by anything; it was simply becoming crushed. No muscle was tearing and no bone was breaking, and yet something had to be breaking.
But the wave did wash over. Will could breathe again, taking shallow breaths as he slumped down on his chair. The feelings coursing through his body died down, but not entirely, and his slowly opening eyes let him know that the reality was still there. It just looked... weird.
Will was staring at the edge of his desk from a downward angle. His clothes had become so loose that they had become a hindrance, and his feet no longer touched the ground. It was a rough estimate, but he doubted that his head would reach higher than Captain's chest at best. And there was more.
As he wriggled himself free from his now useless shirt, Will saw a change that truly made him panic. An unusual blue texture had infected his arm, from fingertips to biceps. Fingernails had transformed into short, sharp, black claws. It was eerily similar to what Sapphy's body looked like, only on a full-grown human. The totality of the earlier feeling had made him miss this change entirely.
Yet it wasn't over. Will's mind wasn't quite gone enough to let that slip his notice, and he would have known this even without the trembling that was trying to break its way back to surface. Whatever this reaction was, it was trying to turn him fully into a being like Sapphy, and it wouldn't cease trying until it had done so.
A delirious smile creeped over the researcher's face. An effect this drastic based on such simple ingestion was unheard of to the point where it could be classified as a miracle... but right now it was more appropriate to call it a curse. Uncontrolled environment with uncalculated dose. If the effect didn't run off when the elixir itself did, he might get stuck like this for good. The maelstrom of panic and joy that raged within him made it impossible to determine which was the source of the laughter that was escaping his lips.
The next wave was drawing near...
