The new years celebrations were simple at the abbey, as many things were. The sisters came together over a feast that was marginally more fancy than what they normally ate, coupled with bottles of abbey's own special liqueur. The real joy was coming together and spending time with their beloved sisters. There could not be a better start for a year.

This year's celebrations was a special occasion for Lamretta. She had turned 18 earlier this year, so it was her first time attending the celebrations as an adult. Younger nuns were not allowed to partake in the herbal liqeour. In doing so herself, it made Lamretta *feel* like an adult for the first time since her birthday.

Lamretta exchanged new year's greetings with an older sister who was on serving duty. It was a mix of warm words and a warm, albeit awkward, hug. Sister Loenna was a human with a sizable chest of her own. She wasn't tall, but neither was Lamretta for a draph. Loeanna's arms wrapped around the shorter one's head as Lamretta's own arms reached around her lower back, with her face pushed against her bosom. It was a completely normal occurency at the abbey, one that Lamretta had only recently started to feel embarrassed about.

"There you go."

Lamretta accepted the cup from an older sister and took a few steps back. Her gaze became fixed on its contents.

Lamretta's nervous face was reflected back on the clear liquid. It would have been easy to mistake for water if not for its sweet smell, one that was obvious to Lamretta long before the cup had touched her lips. Its taste was sweet, but not overwhelmingly so. Rest of it was hard to decipher. It was the best thing that Lamretta had ever tasted. Her small sip quickly turned into downing it all in one go.

Other sisters smiled and chuckled at her eagerness.

"Look at you go! Now don't forget to drink some water, too. Your morning self shall not curse you so if you do."

Lamretta nodded. It was the only answer she could muster. She was still enraptured by that sweet nectar. Never before had she felt so blessed, so perfectly content. Everything unpleasant just melted away. It made it easy to disregard the tingles all over her body and the weird feelings against her outfit.
