"What's to figure out?" you ask: "I want to get back home to my girlfriend! I can even give you her address and cellphone number, right now."
"It's not as simple as that," she tells you: "For starters, there's the fact that you might be called on, as a witness for the prosecution, when Lea and her boss come to trial. So, the Bureau might have to keep you sequestered, with me, for safe-keeping."
"Me???" you exclaim, in disbelief: "A witness? I don't even know _why_ you were after Lea's boss! All I can testify to is what she said she planned to have Lea to do to me. Which wasn't exactly spelled out in conveniently incriminating terms!"
"The Federal prosecutor will probably say that's good enough for a start," Lisa replies: "Anyway, there's also your unique physical status. SPAT--the FBI office in charge of Special Patents and Technologies--will want to know how you got this way. And, no doubt, DARPA, as well. So, again, you'll probably wind up being in my custody. For your own safety!"
"Yeah, right," you sarcastically counter: "But, OK! Let's say Scenario #2 legitimately occurs. Do you think they'd believe me if I told them the truth? Namely; that I was left this way by a maliciously mischievous beeyotch of a genie?"
"Hey!!" exclaims a new (decidely female) voice: "Who are you calling a beeyotch?"
It is, of course, the genie who started all this trouble. And she has appeared...
