The slight tremble distracts you as you look around, trying to figure out what would be the best way to escape while quickly discarding some options. As a creature that preferred a life of peace away from trouble until Princess Yvetta, or maybe this mage, changed your life, the more confrontational options didn't appeal to you. It could quickly lead to trouble, and it could quickly lead to losing your only advantage in this merciless dungeon. The footsteps you saw meant there were guards around, and if one of them managed to overpower you or alert the others, you could see yourself being quickly relocated to a cell fitting your size.
"..." You look up, partly to examine the ceiling and partly to see if the trembling was voluntary, but she isn't even looking at you, her head turned towards one of the many scribbles in the walls again and her mouth moving slightly, seemingly still trying to remember some of those forgotten spells but from your position on her hands you can tell how her neck is turning with a bit too much force, she is deliberately not looking at you. A curious mix of emotions make you forget about your entire ordeal with the princess for a moment: Skepticism at her supposed ability to summon you, curiosity and dread at the "micro summoning research" and the mention of dark gods you saw in the chalk note, and a pang of disappointment even, the uneasy feel that if she summoned you, you weren't up to what she expected.
And just as that doubt started to creep in it vanishes with a wordless gesture, with Ilbien looking down at you before turning her head to the other side so quickly it leaves no room to misinterpret her emotions. She is not judging you, and she isn't thrilled or expectant to see what the creature she summoned is capable of to help her escape. She just seems to be nervous about something else that you can't quite figure out yet. Feeling more comfortable with that knowledge, you decide to become more proactive in the task you were supposed summoned to, flying around to check the cell more thoroughly and not finding any encouraging signs. The lock mechanism looks like something you cannot pick easily, the door is sturdy, no cracks in the walls or ceiling.
Frustrated, you take another look at the mage as you consider going solo to try and snatch a key from the guards, a stealthy but very risky option. She seems absorbed in one of her notes in the wall until you notice the movement of her head is a bit too mechanical, once again she is going out of her way to not see you. Was it a show of trust? Did she want to summon someone else? You decide to save energy and walk up to her to communicate your plan until you notice a crack in the floor that you didn't bother checking thoroughly, covered as it was with her scribbles.
"It could work" you think to yourself. Even if it wasn't in the intended direction it would be safer than just going on your own, with a small tunnel you could make some reconnaisance without being seen, with a bigger one Ilbien could go with you once you get a feel of what is down there. You waste no time and start using a spell to continue breaking through the crack you found, wondering what you might find below.
"W-what are you?... Oh.. OH.. w-water.. n-no.. it's w-with th-this.. m-may the g-ground s-surrender, erode" you smile at the thought of having chosen a competent partner, not only she stopped ignoring you but she quickly caught on what you were trying to do and used a spell of her own to greatly speed up the process. A show of trust, that you hope to repay by getting her out of here with you.
What happens next?
