Short Tempered
Winning Her Back Chapter 3

You gritted your teeth and balled your fists as Anna’s wicked smirk loomed over you. It didn’t matter how big she was, she was just a typical teen being a bitch. You weren’t going to stand for it.

“You know what?” You stood up straight and looked her in the eye. Craning your neck to do so… “Fuck you, Anna. I know I made a mistake, and I’ve regretted it for the last six months. I’ve reflected, I’ve taken stock, and I’ve realised what I threw away. Now I’m here to try and make things right. If that’s not good enough for you, I don’t care. I didn’t write your name on the package, I wrote Zoe’s. Her opinion is all that matters to me. Now either take me to her room, or let me down so I can go there myself, and maybe I wont tell her you’re in the habit of opening her mail.”

Every part of your body was numb from adrenaline. You just stood up to a freaking giant and she just sat there and listened! Her smirk softened into a frown and her cocky raised eyebrows dropped to their humble resting position, and it appeared your speech had won her over.

“Fine.” She said after taking a beat to contemplate your words. “I’ll let you down. I’m sure you remember the way to Zoe’s room, right?”

“Thanks, Anna.” You said as you climbed aboard her waiting hand, and were lowered to the carpet. “I know the way - end of the hall and to the left!”

You hopped off Anna’s hand and watched as she stood to her full height. It was unexplainable. This was the first time you were standing next to someone at this size. Of course, Lydia was pretty big when she put you in the box, but you were standing on a desk. But on the floor, with Anna standing right there put everything into perspective. Your head didn’t even come up to her ankle! She looked more like a statue, built by the most dedicated of sculptors, spending decades of their lives carving every feature to perfection.

Anna stared back down at you expectantly. You wondered if she was having similar thoughts. Did she consider herself big when standing in front of you? Or was she marvelling your size in kind? Eventually, she vocalised her thoughts:
“Well? You gonna stand there all day?” She then gestured to the door.

You shook your head, snapping yourself out of it, and began your trek across the carpet to Zoe’s room. But your journey was quickly interrupted by something large and heavy crashing down in front of you. You fell backwards in an attempt to get away from the offending object, only to realise it was Anna’s foot.

”Oops! Sorry, little guy! I guess it’s pretty dangerous on the floor, huh?”

“Jesus, Anna! You almost crushed me!”

“I did?! Oh dear, how careless of me! I guess I should watch where I STEP!” She brought down her other foot even harder, and you could’ve sworn even closer this time. You scurried away from it on all fours, before shakily getting back on your feet.

“Seriously, Anna, quit it!” You faced her in time to see her raise her foot again. You wasted no time in sprinting for the door as the foot came down mere inches behind you. It appears your little speech only served to anger her…

Anna let out a haunting laugh as she continued stomping in close pursuit. You knew if she wanted to, she could easily squash you. This was just a game to her. But that did little to calm the part of your brain that recognised a threat when it saw one. So you continued running in the hopes that playing along would at least keep you out from under her feet.
