Kate sat at the entrance of the hole in the living room wall that had been her home for the past five years. She stared longingly at the kitchen counter where she used to live, wondering about the whereabouts of poor, little sister. If she were able to, she would fly up there right now and rescue Alicia. Her attention turned to the giants in the kitchen, clearly distressed over something. She couldn’t hear what they were saying, it was all just incomprehensible noise to her. She hated those monsters with a vengeance. Even if they didn’t know it, they had claimed the lives of her family. Her parents, brother, sisters, uncles, aunts, cousins and grandparents. Everyone she loved except for her dear Alicia. Kate wanted to believe her sister is still alive, that the skills she taught her were enough to help her survive, but doubt clouded her mind. Her poor sister was a tiny little thing, much smaller than the average Microputian her age and very dependent on Kate for everything.

“You’ve been staring over there for hours. Why don’t you come back inside and eat? You’ll need the strength”, a voice said from behind her.

Kate turned towards the source of the voice. It was Harvey, the one who saved her five years ago and her mate.

“I’m sorry. It’s just that I really miss her... She needs me”, Kate explained meekly. Harvey sat next to her and wrapped his strong arms around her. She smiled as he did this, always happy to be in the company of the man she loved. Since the day she was knocked off of the kitchen counter by that careless giant mother, Harvey had been her rock. When she was falling, she was sure she had reached the end of her short, painful life. That never came. She found herself blinking in and out of consciousness while catching glimpses of an unrecognisable figure carrying her in his arms. When she came to, she was in an unfamiliar location lying in a bed. She was greeted by Harvey and he offered her food and water. She was ecstatic. She was meeting another member of her kind besides her sister for the first time in years. He had been out scavenging until he heard someone screaming. He saw her falling and caught her just in time before she impacted the floor. Harvey had been living on the giants’ floor for all of his life. He had no memories of his parents or other family members. Scavenging on the floor was much safer than on the kitchen counter. There were no threats to the two Microputians’ wellbeing as long as they scavenged at night. At first, Harvey insisted that she stay inside while he scavenged. It was the men’s job to do the scavenging while the women stayed safe and protected at home, but her expert scavenging capabilities impressed him enough that he allowed her to join him. The floor was heaven compared to the kitchen counter that had been her home for years. With the giant couple and their daughter asleep, the two speck-sized scavengers could attain food and water in peace. The crumbs and droplets were so massive that they never hungered or thirsted. Kate’s life appeared to have turned around. She was never hungry, her hunting skills improved further and she had fallen for Harvey. They could confidently say they were mates now. Still, this amazing life wasn’t perfect. Her sister wasn’t here and she never stopped thinking about what she might be going through, if she was still alive.

“It's okay. I’m sure your sister is still alive. You trained her to be strong like you. Now come on inside and eat, my love. You’re eating for god-knows-how-many right now”, he advised. He gave her a kiss while rubbing her baby-filled belly. Kate gave her belly a rub as well. Kate was remising about the past so much, it briefly made her forget about her future, more importantly her children’s future. She would have to give up scavenging for real this time, but she didn’t care anymore, she was going to be a mother! Even if she had the choice, the large amount of children she was carrying always made her tired and she could hardly stand with her huge, milk-filled breasts wearing her down. Kate couldn’t wait to meet her children. She promised to shower them with the same love, care and kindness she gave to her sister. The poor woman looked like she would give birth at any moment. The couple had no idea how many were in there. Kate hoped there were hundreds of thousands inside of her. Despite her offspring not being born yet, she already felt a strong, unbreakable bond with them. She guessed it was the power of a mother’s love. Kate slowly got to her feet while Harvey held her hand in his right hand while wrapping his left arm around her back to support her. The lovers slowly retreated inside of their little hole in the wall to enjoy time to themselves.
