"Oh shit" you heard the knocking and just remembered your friend wanted to hang out with you this afternoon. You were planning to watch a movie with her and just spend time in the mall or whatever, but of course, now you had this thing attached to you and not only you completely forgot about your plans, but you would have to cancel them anyway.

"Hey, how have you been? .. uhh and what's that thing?" she confirmed your suspicions when it took her seconds to notice the weird bracelet.

"I don't know, there was this box at the doorstep and when I checked it had this weird bracelet on it, then these gems started to glow and next thing I know is it won't come off" you felt a tiny bit better ranting to your friend who kept looking at the gems with curiosity and turning your arm noticed that it indeed had no buckle, space or any sort of mechanism to unattach that thing from your arm. 

"You tried warm water?"

"Yup"

"Butter?"

"Yup"

"hmm, degreaser?"

"Anything except cutting my arm, and look" you said while turning your arm again "I can't move it at all either. It's perfectly stuck"

"Huh... and does it hurt? Shouldn't you feel a lot of pressure in that part of your arm if it's stuck like that?"  That was actually a great question

"You know what? It doesn't hurt at all.. This is so weird, but it looks so tacky, no way I can go outside with this thing on me"

"You can always put on a big jacket or something" your friend shrugged "I wonder what does it do"

"It ruins my day, that's what it does" she snorted at the joke

"I mean it looks kind of science fictionish, maybe it has an use" your friend offered unconvicingly, but looking again at the gems and touching them as if expecting something to suddenly activate

"Well, no instructions came in the box so I would have no idea how to use it.. Stop doing that" you were joking, but also feeling a bit nervous of this bracelet doing something too, who knows what it could do?

"Does it remind you of anything?" 

"Not really, and you?"

"I know it looks trash but somehow it reminds me of those futuristic devices that could make things appear from thin air"

"Things? What things?"

"Weapons, holograms, even portals" your friend shrugged "you know, like teleporting or traveling through time"

"Hah, that would be something" you laughed "it would make up for this crappy design"

"You should try thinking about it" she joked, or so you thought

"Are you serious?"

"Why not? You already said we won't go outside and that thing is too interesting to ignore"

"Ok then, I will think of this bracelet getting out of my arm" you said out loud and pretended to concentrate, but nothing happened.

"You have to believe, and wish from your heart..pfft sorry I can't even finish that" she cracked and laughed hard at the idea of her being some wise master teaching her student the use of some ancient magical weapon. 

"Tell you what, I'll get snacks and drinks so we can just watch some TV here, and you keep trying while we get some other ideas" she stood up and went towards the kitchen leaving you alone to not be embarrassed and giving her idea a proper try, because what else could you do.
