"Well, this is something..."
You said that as you stared at the phenomena that just appeared in front of you, a magical vortex? quantum rift? space-time portal? if anything it was a large yet very colorful portal-thing that just appeared shortly after you arrived at your home from work, you really didn't think that this would be the first thing you'll see on your hall when coming back home.
You looked behind and made sure nobody was looking at the door and luckily, there was nobody looking over your shoulders and good thing too, you really didn't want for someone to call the feds and pentagon and whatever secret government organization that hides this kind of stuff from society... if there is one, that's it.
You quickly closed and locked the door and the curtains, leaving only the eerie glow of the portal as the only thing illuminating the hallway of your home.
You were a thrill-seeker as well having an almost boundless curiosity and you wanted to document all of this and - who knows? Maybe embark yourself on an adventure, it is a portal after all and it appeared to you on in your house for a reason - ?!?

"What the!?" There was a strong gust of winds that almost blew you away, It came from the portal but it then suddenly felt a strong pull toward the portal "No!" You shrieked as you held on to the door but it mattered little as the pull became stronger - the portal howled as it grew and glowed becoming something akin of a black hole, you pulled yourself close to the door but -
C-CRACK!
"No... NOOOOOOoooo~~~!"
You slipped and fell straight into the colorful vortex
