Before you could even finish that sentence, you groaned in discomfort as a white lights flashed behind your eyes. A high pitched whine rose in intensity in your ears, then you heard a voice speak In your mind as clear as day.
I am the eye that sees beyond all time and space. Think of a place you want to go, and I will take you there
After a few seconds the ringing stopped, and you were free to open your eyes again.
You gasped. The wristwatch, armband... Thing... Had changed. The center jewels had vanished to become replaced by a large catseye gem, that shone with an eerie blue light. Around the edges of the bracelet, markings of some sort of esoteric language was craved into the stone surface, and it was written all around the circumference of the artifact.
It was clear that whatever you had just placed around your wrist had mystical qualities to it that defied explanation.
"What the fuck..." You breathed. Did you just get pulled into some Lord of the Rings type stuff?
This was the type of thing that only happened in some kind of B-list Isekai anime, and never to someone like you.
You gingerly pointed a finger into the poked the "eye" of the setting to look for a reaction, and other than the symbols flaing up with white light for a second, nothing else changed.
"You stared at the armband for a long time with a mixture of curiosity and worry. It didn't seem to be dangerous, at least, not from what you could observe.
It just seemed to be rather clingy and difficult to remove.
What was up with that voice, inside your head anyway? "Think of a place to go..." What did that mean?
There were plenty of places you wanted to visit, not all of them based in reality. You liked watching cartoons and playing videogames and would love to visit one of those types of universe if you ever got the chance.
Then again, the freedom to go anywhere meant that you could visit a lot of places in real life, or even visit an alternate universe.
The bracelet reacted to your desires and began to glow brighter and brighter. It fed off your thoughts, using them to construct a destinatio, and gathered energy to create a dimensional portal.
