"I'll have the....chicken salad," you said after pondering for some time. You decided against going for the steak. Not only would that break Fluttershy's trust, it might potentially make her sick too. You mentally heaved a sigh at the missed opportunity but you did it for Fluttershy. Nothing bad can come out of this.
"Wow, Fluttershy!" Rainbow Dash exclaimed, "You managed to choose the same thing I did when Gilda took me here. They served the best chicken salads in town. Trust me, you'll love it on the first bite. Okay, waiter. My friend here would like a chicken salad."
The bar mare jotted down her order and went about her business.
"Heh...Really, Rainbow?"
"Yea, really. The chicken salad is totally awesome. Although I got a bit of indigestion on my first visit. Totally worth it."
"That sounds awful. I can't imagine how you went through that," you said.
"It sure was. And Gilda joked about that everyday back in school for who knows how long. I've still got the sound of her laughter stuck in my brain. Heck, I even earned the awful nickname "Rainbow Flush" among classmates," the pegasus recalled. Hey Dash, did you turn the restroom rainbow again with your diarrhea? Hahahaha...
"That wasn't really nice of her to do that."
"It's alright, Fluttershy. I don't let those thoughts trouble me. Plus, it's the least harmful of the things she had ever played on me," Rainbow said with a slight frown, "Although I kinda wonder what she's up to these days after she left that party about a year or two ago where she turned out to be a real jerk to you. But I'm starting to miss her even after what she did to you and the others. Sometimes, I thought about looking for her back at Cloudsdale but I always back out at the last minute."
"Hmmm...I see..."
Fluttershy, who is this Gilda she kept talking about?
'She's....she was a griffon who was friends with Dash back at Flight School. They were both part of the Junior Speedsters, the top fliers of their classes. They remained good friends until Pinkie Pie's party where.......'
Fluttershy's voice seemed to hesitate to explain. You could literally felt her trembling inside your (her) mind.
Until what?
'....nevermind.... That's a long story. I don't wanna bore you with it. Let's just not talk about it again. Though it's great to see Dash recovering the incident.'
As you wish. Do feel free to tell me whenever you're ready.
"Hey 'Shy! Your food is here," Dash chimed.
You and Rainbow talked some more while Fluttershy listened in the background. She mentally instructed you about the topic to discuss. Several minutes later, the bar mare returned with a tray on her head.
"Alright. Here you go. A nice serving of our delicious chicken salad!" she cheered.
"Thank you," you complimented, "This looks absolutely delicious."
"No problem. It's actually nice to see more ponies trying out our more exotic menus. Although you need to exercise some caution since it's likely your first time trying meat. Is there anything else you need?"
"No. Thank you. That would be all," Rainbow said.
Okay then. If you need anything, just tell me. Enjoy your meal!" the pony said before trotting away to other customers.
You set your sights on the dish before you. There are several strips of chicken meat laid on a bed of lettuce, onions, carrots, tomatoes, and sweet peppers. The fruity dressing smells wonderful and made your (Fluttershy's) stomach growl.
"Well, what are you waiting for? Dig in!" Dash smirked.
