As Honoka made her way home with Umi in the palm of her hand, the girls noticed a familiar face waiting at the upcoming crosswalk.
"Heyyyy, Maki-chaaan! Over here!" Honoka called out to the redhead. Maki turned to face her friend, pulling an earbud out of her ear.
"O-oh, hey Honoka. I'm just heading home from piano practice. What about you?"
"Wow, you went to piano practice after our idol workout? You had a busy day!" Honoka said with an impressed little clapping motion. "I stayed after in the clubroom to do some uh, student council duties... Anyways, look here!!" as she said this, Honoka outstretched her arm and held Umi out for Maki to get a close look at. Maki nearly jumped back in surprise from the unexpected reveal.
"H-hey, Maki-chan..." Umi sheepishly greeted the underclassman.
"No way..." Maki gasped. "Umi shrank too...?"
"Too!?" Honoka and Umi replied in unison.
"Y-yeah, here... look... I should have shown you right away but... I didn't want to cause a commotion..." Lifting up her girlish handbag, she unzipped it to reveal two little surprises.
Inside Maki's mini purse were fellow 1st years Hanayo and Rin! Both shrunken to Umi's size!
"No waaaay!! Did they eat Nozomi's cupcakes too!?" Honoka asked.
"Yeah, seems like these two dummies got into the sweets before practice. I found them on the floor while I was changing and took them with me to piano lessons..." explained the tsun redhead.
"H-hello..." squeaked the minuscule Hanayo.
"Uoooo!! Honoka you're huuuuuge just like Maki-nya! And Umi you're tiny just like us! Nyahaha!" Rin hollered.
"I guess I'm glad I'm not the only one in this horribly humiliating situation... We'll all have to confront Nozomi tomorrow about this..." said Umi in an unusually calm demeanor.
"Right. We were going to do the same. I was going to just let these two stay at my place tonight. Is Umi staying with you, Honoka?" asked Maki.
"Yep! We're gonna have a sleepover like the good old days!" cheerily answered the group leader.
"Alright then. We'll see you tomorrow then. Don't worry, we'll fix you all somehow," said Maki in an uncharacteristically empathetic manner. "Bye for now."
"Bye bye! Have fun you three!" Honoka waived goodbye to the trio of first years as Maki zipped up her purse and began to walk away...
