Microscopic Survival

“So…” Cyrene continued, seemingly still trying to find the right words. “Shortly after I woke up, I was met with a vision, depicting you awakening in this state. And, well, usually my visions are more cryptic and merely potential futures, and I don’t get them very often anyway. But, um, this one was… different! Much clearer, and somehow I knew it was going to happen soon!”
It was an odd display, seeing Cyrene be more nervous than you in this situation while she towered over you like nothing else ever had. You had never really believed any of the witchcraft stuff, but it was hard to deny while you found yourself in the middle of a seemingly impossible situation.
“I was so sure that I immediately came down to your apartment to see if it was true. And before I even reached your door, I could already sense that something had happened! The air just felt… wrong, to put it simply. So, I used a bit of simple magic to unlock your door and enhance my senses, which is why I can see you. Even so, you’re just… minuscule…”
You could have done without that last comment, but it’s not like Cyrene said anything untrue. Though, before you could lament it any further, Cyrene suddenly took a step forward, right in front of your bed. For a moment, you were presented with a view underneath Cyrene’s dress, showing you her underwear-clad body. Black bra and black panties, of course. It was barely a second later that Cyrene crouched down, but to you, it felt much longer than that.
Once Cyrene settled into a comfortable crouching position, your mattress was still merely level with her chest. You kept your gaze high, glued to her face, refusing to give into any temptation that crept its way into your thoughts. She would certainly notice if you did, and you did not want to tempt fate by upsetting Cyrene for something as stupid as this.
“Alright,” Cyrene’s voice practically crashed into you from this close to her face. It seemed like she noticed too, as she suddenly stopped and then continued in a quieter and softer voice.
“I don’t want to give you any wrong ideas; Even if I knew what shrunk you, I probably wouldn’t be able to undo it. Witchcraft isn’t as easy as it’s often portrayed, and I’m still quite a beginner. But I know enough to help make it easier, so I want to help for as long as it takes. Here, let me show you something else I can do!”
You watched as Cyrene closed her eyes and took a deep breath. It looked like she was concentrating on something, but you couldn’t notice anything out of the ordinary. When her eyes opened again, Cyrene lifted her left hand above the mattress and slowly moved it towards you. You were curious at first, but when her index finger and thumb moved into a pinching-position, panic swiftly overtook it. Cyrene seemed to mean well, but being pinched between her fingertips seemed like a bad idea no matter what. Yet, you remained standing, like a deer in headlights, slowly watching certain doom approach you. Her fingertips touched down on the mattress, two massive flesh walls with you caught right between them, too big to ever outrun. When they started to move together, you instinctively closed your eyes, expecting to be pulverized any second now.
When you finally felt something closing in on your body, however, it was a lot more gentle and comfortable than you would have ever imagined. Opening your eyes, Cyrene’s fingertips had come extremely close, leaving a gap just a few times your size wide, yet it still felt like you were being firmly held between them. You were given no further time to think on it, as you were suddenly lifted high into the air in front of Cyrene’s face. Her lips had turned into a content smile, while her eyes still remained on your. Her strangely lavender eyes, which you had always assumed to be cosmetic contacts until now.
“Neat, huh?” Cyrene spoke up, clearly proud of herself. “An imperceptible protective barrier around my hand, allowing me to safely pick you up. It’s usually used as a magic glove, essentially, so we can pick things up that would normally harm us, but it works perfectly for this as well! Now, I think we should…”
