You hear a few loud knocks echo through your apartment, followed by a thunderous yet familiar voice.
"Good morning," Brenda, your landlord, yelled into your apartment through the door.
Brenda and you got along fine for the most part. You weren't friends, and neither of you were perfect, but so far you had always managed to work things out. Whether she was late on fixing something in the apartment, or you were late with rent, you had given each other grace.
"I had to come over for someone else, and I figured it was a good opportunity to talk. There are a few things I've been meaning to discuss with you. You awake yet?"

"Hmm, they're not in bed, but all their stuff is still here," Brenda said out loud to herself as she stepped right next to your bed, her voice even louder from this up close. As she inspects your room, her gaze briefly passes right over you, but you know that even if she saw you, she wouldn't recognize you as a shrunken human. "Maybe they left in a hurry, certainly left quite a mess behind."
Brenda then...
