The locker room still smelled of rubber mats and fresh sweat when the four of them slipped into the far corner behind the last row of lockers. The rest of the class was busy changing, laughing, complaining about sore arms—nobody paid attention to the tight knot of girls who suddenly looked like they were plotting a heist.
Tammy shoved Sharon against the cold metal lockers with more force than necessary. Her thin arms were shaking. When she opened her mouth, English was gone.
“¡¿Qué carajos te pasó, Sharon?! ¡Mírate! ¡Pareces una maldita estatua griega con esteroides! ¡Tus brazos! ¡Tu culo! ¡Tus tetas! ¡Y acabas de destruir a todo el equipo contrario como si fueran muñecas de papel! ¡Explícame ahora mismo!”
Lily raised both eyebrows. “Tammy’s gone full Spanish. That’s how you know she’s actually freaked out.”
Megan stood a step behind, arms wrapped around herself, eyes huge behind her glasses. She hadn’t said a word since the final point of the volleyball match, but the flush on her cheeks and the way she kept stealing glances at Sharon’s sweat-slicked abs and the obscene swell of her breasts said everything.
Sharon leaned back against the lockers, crossed her massive arms under her chest (which only made her cleavage more obscene), and tried the innocent pout that used to work on teachers.
“Guys. Relax. I just… had a really good day. Good sleep. Good breakfast. Good genetics. Chill.”
Tammy’s eyes narrowed to slits. “¿Genética? ¡Sharon, tu pelo te llega al culo y tus bíceps son más grandes que los míos y los de Megan juntos! ¡No me vengas con esa mierda!”
Lily stepped forward, calm but unyielding—the way she always was when she smelled bullshit. “You finished three surprise exams first. Perfect scores. You’ve never cared about derivatives before. And now you’re moving like you’ve been training for the Olympics since kindergarten. Something happened.”
Sharon flicked her long ponytail over one shoulder—hair so thick and glossy it caught the fluorescent light like black silk—and gave a casual shrug that made her delts and traps pop dramatically.
“Maybe I just leveled up. Happens to the best of us.”
Megan finally spoke, voice small and shaky. “You… you look like a fitness model who also happens to be a comic-book superhero. It’s not normal.”
Sharon met Megan’s gaze and softened her tone just a fraction—enough to seem sincere without losing the queen energy. “Meg, babe. I feel amazing. Isn’t that what matters?”
Lily wasn’t buying it. She crossed her arms, mirroring Sharon’s stance but looking far less intimidating in comparison. “The pill. The one Ethan gave you yesterday. The one he whispered was the ‘real’ one. You’ve been chugging milk like it’s oxygen ever since. And now this?” She gestured at Sharon’s entire sculpted, vascular, hyper-feminine physique. “That pill was supposed to let you eat dairy without gaining weight. Not turn you into a walking billboard for protein powder.”
Silence.
Tammy’s rapid Spanish muttering stopped. She stared at Sharon like she’d grown a second head.
Sharon’s jaw tightened. She’d planned to share—if the results were good. After she made sure she stayed the undisputed alpha. After she confirmed nobody else would eclipse her. But now the secret was cracking open in front of her and she hated it.
She forced a laugh. “Come on. A diet pill making me smarter and jacked? That’s sci-fi nonsense. Ethan’s a nerd, not a mad scientist.”
Lily tilted her head. “He’s a nerd who gave you the real dose and placebo to the rest of us. And you’ve been mainlining dairy for twenty-four hours. The timing lines up perfectly. Grades. Body. Strength. Speed. It’s not luck. It’s chemistry.”
Tammy threw her hands up. “¡Entonces es una droga experimental! ¡Y tú la tomaste sin decirnos nada!”
Sharon pushed off the lockers, stepping into their space—using her new height and sheer physical presence to loom just enough to remind them who was in charge.
“Okay. Fine. Maybe the pill is… doing more than advertised. But look at me.” She flexed one arm slowly—bicep rising into a perfect peak, veins threading over the surface like rivers on a map. “I’m perfect. Stronger. Smarter. Hotter. And we just humiliated the entire class on the court because of it. You’re mad?”
Megan swallowed hard. “We’re… scared. For you. And maybe a little for us.”
Lily nodded. “We’re not taking those pills until we know exactly what they do. Side effects. Long-term. Everything.”
Sharon exhaled through her nose, relief flickering behind her eyes. They weren’t demanding she flush the jar. They weren’t calling her reckless (yet). They were… deferring.
She seized the opening.
“Fine,” she said smoothly. “I’ll be the test subject. I’ll keep taking them, keep drinking the milk, keep tracking what happens. When I’m sure it’s safe—and awesome—you’ll all get your turn. Deal?”
Tammy crossed her arms. “¿Y si te explota el corazón o algo?”
“Then you’ll have a very dramatic funeral to plan,” Sharon shot back with a smirk. “But I’m not dying. I’m ascending.”
Lily studied her for a long beat. “You really think you can handle whatever this is?”
Sharon flexed both arms at once—double-bicep pose that made the shredded sports bra remnants groan in protest. “Bitch, look at me. I was born to handle more.”
A long pause.
Then Tammy sighed. “Está bien. Pero nosotras te vamos a mantener vigilada. Y te vamos a dar toda la leche que quieras. Quiero ver hasta dónde llega esto.”
Megan nodded quickly. “We’ll bring you dairy. Yogurt, cheese, ice cream—whatever you need. Just… tell us if anything feels wrong.”
Sharon’s smile turned predatory. “Deal. Now let’s get changed before Rivera comes looking for me again. I’ve got a body to show off.”
The girls scattered to their lockers, still buzzing with nervous excitement. Tammy kept muttering in Spanish under her breath. Lily kept stealing glances at Sharon’s back—watching the lats flare every time she reached for something. Megan looked like she might actually combust.
Sharon caught her own reflection in the mirror across the room.
She winked at herself.
Game on.
Option 1: Lily suggests Sharon take an overdose of pills.
Option 2: Tami suggests sneaking into the cafeteria kitchen and stealing milk.
