Super body, super mind Undeserved Ascendance chapter 27 by copier · original author: an188

They smile at each other, "I missed you," Danny murmurs, his voice roughened by exertion and something dangerously close to vulnerability. His thumb traces the curve of her jaw where his teeth had left crescent marks. "Not just the fucking—though, god, that—but this. You." Charlie's smirk softens just enough as she licks the silver from his lips. "You needy boy," she whispers, claws carding through his platinum waves. "I missed you too." She her hand on his cheek, "we were apart for too long."

The thick, rubber-like sweat clinging to their bodies stretches in glossy strands between them as they pull apart slightly. Danny grimaces, peeling a strand of it off his forearm with a disgusted noise. "Ugh, this cheap-ass place—why is it like fucking rubber?" Charlie giggles, a sound like shattering crystal, and flicks a droplet of the viscous sweat at him. "Darling, did you really think we'd still sweat like
humans?" Danny blinks, his sculpted brow furrowing. "What the hell else would we sweat like?"

Charlie rolls her golden eyes and drags a claw through the sheen on his collarbone, the sweat stretching like melted latex between her fingers. "We're not human anymore, you gorgeous idiot," she murmurs, leaning in to lick a stripe up his neck, savoring the strange, electric taste. "Cosmic energy rewrote our biology. We're something
more now." Danny stares at her, then down at his own sweat-glazed hands, flexing them as if seeing them for the first time. "We are no longer humans!" She said, "technically and physically we are a completely new species now."

"You were always the smart one between us, princess," Danny smirked. "Well the cosmic energy increase both of our IQ... but I was always smarter than you!" Charlie giggles, her golden claws tracing lazy circles on his sweat-slicked pectorals. The clearing around them still steamed from their earlier exertions, the air thick with ozone and the musk of their shared climax.

Charlie's golden eyes flashed with amusement as she flexed her claws. "Watch this, meathead," she purred. With effortless grace, she extended a single claw toward a nearby boulder—one that had somehow survived their earlier destruction. A faint golden aura shimmered around it as the massive rock trembled, then lifted clean off the ground. Danny's golden eyes widened as it hovered at eye level, rotating slowly. "Bullshit," he breathed.

She smirked, her brow furrowing in deeper concentration. The boulder
pulsed—then exploded into gravel midair with a sharp crack. Dust rained down, but Charlie just licked her lips, satisfied. "Your turn." Danny scoffed, flexing his own claws experimentally. At first, nothing happened—just the faintest shimmer around his fingertips. Then, with a growl of frustration, he locked onto a smaller rock and yanked. It shot toward him so fast he had to duck, barely avoiding his own face.

Charlie burst out laughing, clutching her stomach as the rock embedded itself in a tree behind him. "Subtle," she teased, wiping golden tears from her eyes. Danny scowled, but his lips twitched. "Fine.
Delicate." He exhaled, focusing—this time, the same rock wiggled free from the bark and floated smoothly between his palms. Charlie watched, impressed, as he split it cleanly in half with nothing but a thought.

A sudden, deafening rush of voices flooded their minds—hundreds, maybe thousands, overlapping whispers, screams, thoughts. Danny staggered, clutching his temples. "What the—?" Charlie gasped, gripping his arm as the mental onslaught sharpened into clarity: a freshman panicking over exams three miles east, a couple arguing over rent near campus, a professor fantasizing about his TA. Their eyes met, wide and giddy.

Charlie burst into laughter first, her golden claws pressing against her lips as she pointed toward the city skyline. "Oh my god, *listen*—that barista just called her manager a 'caffeine-hoarding troll' in her head!" Danny's smirk returned, sharper now, as he tuned into a frat house where some dude was mentally rehearsing his terrible pickup lines. "This one thinks 'nice shoes, wanna fuck?' is
chivalrous," he snorted, shaking his head.

Danny flexed his fingers experimentally, then zeroed in on the same frat guy's thoughts—and
pushed. The distant, audible screech of "WHY AM I YELLING ABOUT TACOS?!" made them both double over cackling. Charlie retaliated by making a librarian suddenly forget the Dewey Decimal System mid-sentence; the woman's panicked mental spiral about "alphabetical by color?" sent Danny wheezing into Charlie's shoulder.

Their powers collided next—Danny amplifying some poor soul's intrusive thoughts about their professor's terrible toupee while Charlie broadcasted it directly
into said professor's mind. The resulting psychic feedback loop of horrified "DID I JUST SAY THAT OUT LOUD" and "WHO THE HELL IS 'KEVIN' AND WHY DOES HE THINK I WEAR A RUG" had them clutching each other for balance, tears streaming.

they both smirked and fly up to the sky, hovering over the city like gods watching ants. Danny focused on a packed nightclub below—with a flick of his fingers, he
pulled every drink in the building straight into the air simultaneously. Glasses froze mid-sip, bottles halted mid-pour, a hundred confused faces staring as their liquor floated toward the ceiling in a shimmering constellation. Charlie giggled and twisted the entire scene into a disco ball effect, refracting the alcohol into a thousand swirling prismatic droplets that rained back down sticky-sweet on the screaming crowd.

Their telepathy flared next, intercepting the chaos of panicked thoughts—"
Did the roof open?!" "IS THIS A TIKTOK TREND?"—before Danny latched onto one guy’s internal monologue about his cheating girlfriend. With a nudge, he broadcasted the dude’s guilty conscience directly into the girlfriend’s mind, complete with vivid mental images of the motel room and the other woman’s name tattooed on his thigh. The resulting slap echoed so loud even the bouncers winced.

Charlie suddenly saw someone driving drunk—a wobbly sedan veering toward a crosswalk full of students. Before Danny could react, she seized the car's entire undercarriage telekinetically and
flipped it mid-street like a pancake, wheels spinning uselessly in the air while the driver dangled upside down by his seatbelt. Danny grinned, then rifled through the man's drunken thoughts and projected them onto the nearby bus stop advertisement screen—every slurred, horny fantasy now playing in 4K for the horrified crowd.
