Settling In A Shrinking Condition chapter 20 by copier · original author: sm7in

Pulling in to his driveway just four houses down was his sister and her friend Casey, dropping her off after what was probably a casual drive home from school, since Alison didn’t work and never elected any difficult class. All that mattered was her socializing at this point in her life, which is why Cheerleading wasn’t much of a real chore for her; any real work she put into it gave direct, concentrated results to her social atmosphere. Casey, though not one of her most popular friends, was a good friend and shared the same goofiness that Alison had so they had always been pretty tight. It’s always one aspect that made their mom abstain from any real reprimand on Alison’s social life is that even when Alison came into her own and became popular she didn’t ditch the friends that had been with her for her before that. As Steve walked by the next house or two, observing the neighbor across the street who was out trimming bushes or the dog behind the fence desperately focused on guarding his master’s home, Alison chatted up with Casey before taking notice of her brother’s abnormal time and means of approaching home.

Walking up to through the grass, Steve waved at the girls as they began grabbing their bags and drinks to exit the car. “Did you guys go to the strip mall already?” he asked, taking note of the Smoothie Prince cup in each girls hands.

“Yea, we hung out for a while with Julie there… Did you just walk home by the scenic route or something?” Alison commented, following up behind him up to the front door with her sagging book bag as Casey trailed behind her carrying a purse that was somewhat reminiscent of a duffle bag in size, but certainly not in color.

“Does your mother usually approve of your hobo tendencies?” Casey snickered. Casey was a pleasant girl, though it was hardly ever a secret what she was thinking. Opinionated as an online forum, Casey fit in quite well as she loved to pose such a disposition in fun little bites of sarcasm and jokes. On occasion she may go a hair too far, but nothing she wasn’t able to mend or apologize for, though not always at the best speed. A beautiful brunette with a cute spray of light freckles across her face and round nose, her light green eyes bounced well with the auburn contrast the freckles had on her tanned skin. An average build with breasts finally beginning to develop after having to be forced to see her friends cannons develop for the last 3 years, Casey stood at a very pleasant 36C that stood to good ratio with her womanly curves as her butt had always had some noticeable ‘junk’ at least since grade school. Steve had always enjoyed his experiences around her though in the last year he had a nudge to think that maybe he should talk to her more, if not to get to know the blooming woman before him, then at least one of his sister’s closest friends.

“Only if I don’t call asking for money,” he responded, slightly turning his head to talk over his shoulder as he unlocked the front door and began walking in. “Yea, Garrett actually had some other, more pressing matters to attend to see he dropped me off along the way.”

“I see that it was rather close,” Alison joked.

Slipping off his shoes and putting his book bag down to grab something to eat as the girls began to head down the hallway to her room, Steve remembered that his sister’s very appearance was also irregular to what he should be expecting. “I thought you weren’t going to be home? What happened with that.”

Giving a slightly indignant sigh before she answered, “Well, it seems you aren’t the only one who has people change plans on them without telling them.”

“Yea, Julie thought it might be better to take up one of her pom-pom’s invitations then to keep with our plans,” Casey added, giving some insight once again upon her general bias towards Alison’s cheerleader side of her friends, referring to cheerleader’s often as ‘pom-poms’ when she was being considerate to Alison. They had discussed that being the only appropriate title Casey had given if Alison was going to be ok with her speaking her mind.

“Well, it wasn’t quite like that, but yea, plans changed so we figure we’d watch some Adventure Time in the meanwhile.” Alison and Casey we absurdly obsessed with Adventure Time. Steve liked it well enough, but there were limits to his fandom for anything he liked…

“Sounds jam-packed. Don’t forget to utilize multi-tasking and breathe while you’re watching,” Steve teased as he walked into the kitchen, effectively leaving the conversation at the sight of Casey laughingly gasping at his inference of the kind of effect the show had on them, thinking to retort before Alison began to usher her on to the room.

Finding a few bites to eat and grabbing his book bag, Steve headed off to his room hearing the sounds of the girls chatter as the tv played on before them. Closing the door behind him, he unloaded his cell phone onto his desk as his book bag dropped before the base of his desk and started up his desktop computer. Within moments, the faintly glowing screen began to show signs of his computers life and found that perhaps it would be better for clarity to close the blinds on such a gorgeous summer day; he had boring things to do after all. It wasn’t long before he had sat down and was able to bring up his internet browser to check on his email and the happenings on facebook. Seeing a post from Garrett reminded him to guilt trip him that he finally got home, when he noticed he had missed a text from Alesha; ‘u no u did jus haply agre 2 b my pet weirdo’. Unable to help himself from chuckling, he texted back ‘Thats different’, to which he received momentarily later, ‘wel ges whos rubbin my ft 2morrow’. Shaking his head, Steve exits Alesha’s text and goes forth writing Garrett’s guilt trip before placing his phone back down onto his desk.
